Build like a tank.
The actual Product was well padded, although the shipping box left little room for error if dropped.Comes with a 6-8 page manual that gives some details about STIII, some concept art, and a top/side/rear/bottom view which 3D modelers might enjoy. The actual Bird of Prey model is either solid aluminum or steel, and if there is actual plastic, I can't spot it. This is very important due to the wingtips would have been easy to break off if plastic due to how thin they are, but its solid enough you almost can pick it up and shake it via the wingtips. Detailing/Painting looks straight out of the movie, with that slightly 'dirty, but used well/hard' military look instead of a super crisp and 'clean' paintjob. Overall it's just over 12 inches from wingtip to wingtip & roughly half that front to back. Stand is a simple 2-piece but is nicely overbuilt to take some abuse and the bottom/base is more than heavy enough to keep it safe & steady. Honestly, if it wasn't for that I want this for my desk only (its MY toy), I'd feel totally fine letting the kids go 'zooooom' and have imaginary dogfights with it, its just that durable.Just need to remember there are three versions of this. This one is the 'flight' variant where the wings are set permanently 'flat'. There's another with the wings down, the 'attack' variant, and lastly there's a version with the wings angled up and with landing gear out which is, obviously, the 'Landing' variant. Each one is a solid different piece and you CANNOT change the angle of the wings, so make sure of which one you want before randomly picking and thinking you can change it's configuration. In case this one becomes unavailable, as its the XL version of the statue, which isn't being made anymore, there is a smaller one that can occasionally be found online that is just as detailed.

Beautiful piece, attention to detail, just 5star outstanding. If you liked the smaller version than this XL edition is for you!

For trek fans
All the eaglemoss models are great quality pieces. They are not toys and not for kids to play with but are display quality pieces.
