Great shed light
I have a small garden shed full of garden stuff. Every time I go in there, I always think there is going to be a snake in the back, even though there never has been one for 25 years. I wanted some kind of light in there and it is not wired. I found this shedlight roof vent and ordered one. My son installed it and it was really easy. We did carefully place the light so that it was located on the side of the roof that gets the most light throughout the day. It made a huge difference! I can clearly see the floor around the tool stand and I'm not worried about stepping on anything that might be alive. The vent does not leak. Bonus - the vent lets out a lot of the sweltering heat. And yes, I know snakes are good bla bla - I just don't want to step on one in the shed.

Good vent
I liked the product but we were so intent on putting the roof on we forgot to install it, so I just put up gable vents. Nothing wrong with vent just a brain fart on mine.

Simple installation, but dimensions continue to be a problem from Canplus
I am using this sunlight vent on a small shed that I couldn't really justify the larger version on. Upon arrival I read over the instructions and noted that the hole size in the roof needed to be 8" x 10" which would be 80 sq.in. vice 50. Sizing seems to be the only hang up with this product. I haven't had a chance to test the vent out against the elements since we have not had any rain, but I'm under the impression that the fact that I can't see the vent from the outside of the housing indicates it should be well protected, like vents under the eave of a house. The sunlight portion performs as if you put a milk carton in a hole in your roof. There is plenty of lightly diffused light.

Good shed skylight
The measurements of the skylight that actually lets the light through inside the shed are approximately 10" X 10". There is a substantial rim around the light that attaches to the roof about 3" - 4" on each side. I installed mine after the shingles were installed and it was relatively easy to slide underneath the shingles. Make sure you position the light so that you are in between the roof framing. Doh! I thing it's a good light and was glad to have found it. I put 2 in my 7' x 14' shed and they allow me to see well without turning on the light. On the exterior the upper part of the light has a slight point to it to allow rain to flow past rather than be trapped on a straight edge.

Provides adequate light for a storage shed for a reasonable cost.
We do not have electricity in our 12' x 20' shed and needed better lighting. We replaced a damaged skylight with three of these transluscent vents. You can see how well-lighted the "rafter storage" is. In the last photo, the blinds on the small window are closed and you can see how much brighter it is in the areas where the transluscent vents are installed. The roofer had never seen these before but liked the idea. They were easy to install.

Don't buy if you intend to use caulk
Nothing sticks to this thing! I though silicone caulk would stick to anything but it peels right off. Don't get this vent if you intend to use caulk for the installation. After multiple attempts at making it work I had to tear it out.

Star rating based upon brittle old shedlight
Replaced Shedlight broken by falling rock with same. Noticed the old Shedlight was extremely brittle compared to new piece. Location at 35 degrees north latitude and 4,500 feet altitude on east facing pitched roof. I hope the latest plastic formulation is more resistant to solar radiation. We have a second Shedlight on the west half of the shed roof and hope nothing hits it.

We bought two of these to replace a leaking skylight ...
We bought two of these to replace a leaking skylight in our outdoor pool house (basically a bathroom). We ended up sending the second back because one provides plenty of light. I am also excited about the amount of air it allows in/out. It will tremendously in the summer.
