Delicious flavor & slower glucose spike than white rice
1) I'm incredibly lazy and this is incredibly easy to cook. Put in pot with water, leave simmering until done. Yay!2) Rice in general is high carb, but wild rice has a lower, slower carb digestion profile than white rice. Plus it has more protein and way, way, way more fiber.3) This stuff is freaking delicious. It's really excellent on it's own, and I often intend on making something fancy only to end up eating it with just salt. (I did say I was lazy.) But if you want a real treat, have this with some green beans, roasted pumpkin, black walnuts, and smoked salt.4) Bonus round: you support a sustainable harvesting practice, and the indigenous culture of our country. This is literally good for America. :D. (was that too patriotic/cheesy? Eh, I don't care, it's true.) :DIf you think it's too expensive - what were you gonna spend the money on, soda and chips? Nah. This is way better. Cook it up and freeze it in little containers so you can nuke it later & have a hot snack in winter. Or cook it and fridge it and eat it cold all week in summer.

Don’t fly with this product on a plane for some weird unknown reason.
We have a friend in Slovenia who has trouble buying this rice there. So my husband was traveling to a nearby country and our friends asked him to mail some things from the nearby country to them in Slovenia. No problem and we will just put in his suitcase and send from there (cheaper). This is the caveat on this rice—for some strange and unusual reason—it tests positive for something and we couldn’t bring it on the plane. We kept it in the original outer packaging (never opened it and even stayed in the box until we packed his suitcases). So it went into the garbage bin completely wrapped up. I’m sure it’s delicious, we will never know, but if you have a hankering to travel with it by flying—wash the outside of the package. Other things we took from Amazon passed, so we are clueless why they told us to pull or not fly. So he pulled and dumped. Waste of good food in my opinion. Just a weird heads up. I doubt anyone plans to fly with a bag of rice, but just in case.

Red Lake Nation's wild rice is the genuine article - good for your body & good for the Red Lake Nation Chippewa
Excellent wild rice, so much better than supermarket offerings. This is the genuine article, cultivated wild rice from Minnesota hand harvested by Red Lake Band of Chippewa in northern Minnesota in canoes. They are the only tribe in this country who grow & harvests its own wild rice!First saw this rice it at the Museum of the American Indian in Washington DC, where the gift shop sells v.small packages for big money. After returning home bought the rice directly from the Red Lake Band of Chippewa at their site Red Lake Nation Foods a business solely owned by Native Americans. I bought large quantities of their 12 oz bags, which are perfect for a family dinner of 5-6 people. While placing a repeat order at Red Nation I was told of a tribeswoman who started marketing this wonderful wild rice through Amazon. The price is identical, but as a Prime member of Amazon, shipping is free. The folks from Red Nation encouraged me to buy through Amazon & so I am.

Keto Diet Followers Will Love Red Lake Nation Wild Rice
Red Lake Nation Wild Rice has become a staple of my diet. I absolutely love this as a replacement for traditional white or brown rice. It was a key player in helping me lose 45 pounds on a low-carb diet and keep ALL those pounds off for more than a year. You have to really cook this stuff thoroughly or you will be disappointed. Once you cook it correctly, I think you'll love it as much as I do. It is just amazing. Yes, it is expensive, but what a terrific natural food. I can't recommend it enough to those going on a Ketogenic-style (low carb, high fat) diet. Be well and enjoy! I always check the reviews when I purchase a product online. I count on others to help me choose the best option. My reviews are my honest opinion. If my review has helped you in any way, please click the "helpful" button below. Seems authentic
Can't always find real wild rice in our local stores. When I do it is cheaper, but this seems to be better qualtiy. Have bought several times

Wild rice, not a mix
This is now on my subscribe and save list. It is so delicious! However, I'm not particularly wild about the bags it comes it and so I immediately dump it into an air tight canning jar to keep it fresh longer.Keep in mind that wild rice takes a longer time to cook than most white rice and even longer than some brown rice. However, it can also be a hard thing to eat straight. If you are just trying wild rice, it is recommended that you use it in combination with other rices, cooked separately, and then added to your final rice dish. But you will LOVE the nutty flavor and texture it imparts to other dishes. It also makes an interesting addition to a mushroom risotto.I've also found that cooking this in chicken broth is a phenomenal treat that is worth trying. It softens the rice slightly and brings in another flavor that complements the rice.

Good and good for you!
Excellent value, taste and reliable product. Gluten Free cuz its a grass seed NOT rice, thus more protein too! And, your purchase directly supports and promotes the Chippewa tribe's economy and culture. What more can you ask for? Most people like it mixed with "regular" rice as a complement, tho I enjoy it straight. My family insists on this for Thanksgiving turkey stuffing (mix with dried apricots, onions, celery, regular rice in 1:1 ratio, after pre-cooking in broth) yum! Enjoyed their enclosed recipe of a rice pudding w/cinnamon, eggs, raisins. as a hearty alternative breakfast. On subscription I enjoy it that much. Definitely recommend!

Great brand, great packaging
There are a lot of comparable wild rice companies to choose from for great taste and quality, but the reason I really like this product is because I like the portion size. I get four smaller packages that are perfect for meals. I don't have to open one large bag and measure and have to return to a Zip Lock. I can store each bag in the cabinet until I'm ready to use it. And one individual package makes a LOT of rice.
