Pull the Caps off the battery make sure it's full of distilled water. hook up the charger put it on the highest amperage of your battery charger and turn it on for 10 to 15 minutes. Then let the battery cool all the way down and repeat four five times until you see all of the holes in the battery bubbling. Do not unhook any of the battery charger leads from the battery while it is charging creating a spark could be very hazardous because of the hydrogen gas in the bubbles.

Q: is this manual or auto?

Well I thought it to be full manual but its not. Well lets put it this way if your buying this for the 200 amp start to rejuvenate a failing battery you might want to get 6512/6512g or above. They do cost quite a bit more though. I you place this on 200 amp start and are trying the 15 minute on and 1 hour off its not that easy. When you first begin the procedure the charger will run for about 3 minutes and cut down for a minute then will only run 45 seconds then cuts back off for a minute or so. But I set the timer for 1.5 hours and figured the time was around 15 minutes total.

This is strictly a manual charger. It has no automatic or computerized functions. It does have a timer that can be used to turn the charger off after a selected period of time.
