Luftwaffe Aces: German Combat Pilots of WWII (Stackpole Military History Series)

I have read other books in this series and have liked them all. Sometimes it does seem that you have read a similar account in other stories but overall I enjoyed it I.would recommend this book to those that like history and the military side of things. I like the personal insight given by those that took part in WWII.

The story of several Luftwaffe pilots or air crews during World War II. Personally, I found the night fighter ace's story the most interesting. Though that poor fellow who's outhouse got shot up while he was in it.....fun times.I was able to pick this up while free. 4,940 locations in length.

While a good deal of the dialogue is presented without attribution, there is enough genuine quotation from witnesses to lend credibility. It is informative and entertaining, though one might wish for more technical detail on typical operation in missions with the various aircraft.

Interesting account of WWII European air battles, highlighting German aces. The book took you through the beginning of WWII when German airpower was superior, to war's end when German Air Force was struggling to find planes, pilots. ammunition and fuel to resist the allied invasion of their homeland.

If you are interested in how things were on the other side this is a good read. I enjoyed it.

I have read little about German pilots. I have more respect for what they went thru with their high command calling them worthless. This book is about some excellent pilots. Very good read.

Awesome book I have read many of this authors books they are all excellent to read. The author was an actual German Army war corespondent.

I dont know what I was expecting, yes each story was complete but it was missing that little something, and in some of the stories I actually started getting a little bit fed up and wanting to finish the book. There were pilots in the book That I had not hesrd of before ture But I have only been dealing with this sort of thing for forty eight years, In fact I was in inphant school When I got a bagde form a second hand shop. But it still needed tha bit of something.
