My almost 2 year olds favorite book! We have the first pout pout fish ...
My almost 2 year olds favorite book! We have the first pout pout fish and I loved it so much that I decided to buy this one. She likes this one even better. I think it's just as cute. We have been so happy with both books that I just ordered 4 others in the collection!---update. This and the first pout pout fish are awesome. 5 stars for sure. The others in the collection are just whatever. Nothing special and really short. Stick to the first 2.

My son loves it! But it introduced the fear of the dark for him
First the god, My son, who is 2, loved the first pout pout fish book and was so excited to see this. He loves this book and asks for it regularly at bed time.We had been reading to him, then turning the light out and leaving the room and he would go to sleep shortly after. After the second or 3rd time of reading this book he did not want us to leave him and would scream and chase after us. I asked what was wrong and he said "Scared" which really was not something he had ever said or used before this book. I don't blame this book in a negative way but I think it just introduce the idea that the dark might have something worth being afraid of. No we read till he falls asleep. No big deal.

Very bad underlying message
We love original pout pout fish story but this is not near. It repeats the idea ‘scare from the dark’. It is so unacceptable to bring ‘scaring’ idea to toddler’s mind. What would you do such a bad kids book!! Also instead of encouraging to do something yourself, book looks for friends because pout pout can’t accomplish by himself?! Why?!?! why would you need another person to do something yourself We are returning the book. Don’t buy.

The Pout-Pout Fish series is the best!
My daughter, who is nearly 2, absolutely loves the original Pout-Pout Fish book. It's her go-to book when she wants a story read to her but it stays at grandma's house. So, I wanted to find another book in the seties to have at home since she is always requesting "Pout Kiss". "The Pout-Pout Fish in the Big-Big Dark" looked to have the highest rating next to the original so I opted for this one. The story is very cute and sing-song-like, with bits of alliteration thrown in. It's super fun to read and the rhyming is done very well so everything flows nicely when reading. The pictures are detailed and interesting and you can always find something you didn't notice before. My daughter is always pointing to different things on each page so it really holds her attention and interest. This book and the original would make the perfect gift for a young reader or an expectant mother. We absolutely love Pout-Pout Fish!! I'll definitely be buying more of the series.

Another great Pout-Pout fish book!
Another Pout-Pout book we love! After reading some reviews I was a bit skeptical about ordering this one but I'm glad we did.Along with the original Pout-Pout Fish book, this too perfect if you like to read to your kid in a sing-song fashion. My daughter loves the repitition of "So he swam a little deeper...... but I'm scared of the dark!" It's like she waits for it in anticipation lol. There's also quite a bit going on on a few of the pages so it'll keep your little one's attention.

My son loves this book, age 20 months
We started off with the regular Pout Pout fish book which my son loves. I purchased this one shortly thereafter and he enjoys this one just as much. We point at the pictures and he giggles and laughs. Great storyline about the power of friendship and how it can help you get through anything. While my son does not understand that concept just yet he enjoys the bright colorful pictures and the playful nature of the verse and words. Wonderful books, we will eventually have them all as he gets older!

Exactly what we needed
This book is so cute and has the same fun rhythm as the original pout pout fish book. We began encountering "scared of the dark" scenarios with our almost 2.5 year old and between this book and a new night light he says "not scared of the dark anymore, have nightlight" (while pointing at the lantern fish in the book.) Maybe not every kid's cup of tea, but it definitely helped in our house!

Even the fish in the Big-Big Dark read Pout-Pout!
This book is just as fun a read as the original Pout-Pout Fish. My seven month old doesn't quite seem to care for it as much as we do (we claim it's his favorite - it's really ours), but I'm sure that will change with age. It's just such a fun book to read out loud. The illustrations are the best and they do manage to capture his attention when I read. I got a laugh today when reading and noticed that one of the fishes that lives in the Big Big Dark trench is actually reading the original Pout-Pout Fish. Kudos for sticking that in there :)

Excellent story
My two boys love pout pout fish. This one is very good. I bought it when my son was afraid of the dark for the first time (just when he turned 5) and it helped to talk about it openly and for him to feel we understand and that he can overcome Fear.

Great rhythm
Pout pout fish stories are fun to read and listen to. Great rhythm. I always put at least one in an essential new baby bundle with other classics. But these stories can be enjoyed by 3 year olds too.

My kid is obsessed
My kid is obsessed with this book. we read it approximately 22,583 times a day.Sure, it has the problem of a kiss without consent, but it's a very minor part of this story. It's about overcoming your fears, staying true to a promise made and working together when things are scary.

Great book
The story is great, the words rhyme, and the illustrations are cute. One of my favorite books to read to my daughter.

Fun book
My husband likes this book better then the original pout pout fish book. Has a better lesson, about being afraid of the dark with the help of friends you can over come your fears.
