Better than I'd hoped!
I was a bit trepidatious about using this but had to try something as I needed to remove the dark purple colour I had put on my dark blonde with grey hair. I had also built up quite a few layers of other colours underneath. It's not difficult to use but it is a bit of a faff. (To be fair that is probably true of colour removers in general!) It recommends reading the instructions twice before you start and I would definitely echo that. The main stuff is a bit smelly but not at all unbearable (and I am very sensitive to smells) but the other lotions and potions smell quite pleasant. One thing that was surprising was that when I washed off the colour remover part I expected the water to run quite murky but it was totally clear. Slight panic at that point in case it hadn't worked! When the moment of truth arrived at the end of the process I was actually amazed - there was no sign of the purple or other colours left in my hair. It was totally back to normal, albeit an awful lot greyer than I remembered! This wasn't as expensive as some of the colour removers but it seems to have worked really well and the smell isn't too bad. I would definitely buy it again.

Useless and smells horrible
This is an abomination. First of all, the nozzle that came in the box didn't fit the bottle, so was useless. I should've stopped right then and not use the product, but unfortunately I didn't. The smell is horrendous and it lingers on, after 2 hair washes, and after using otger hair products. Secondly, it didn't do anything, didn't strip any of my hair colour. I had better results with vitamin C and Head&shoulders shampoo mix. I did get a refund, but I'm still annoyed at this product.

Best one I’ve used and I had black box dye for years to remove before I went blonde
If people are bothered by the smell of this then they’re in for a shock when they use other colour removers of this type - it smells BY FAR the best. The process is easier, rinse time is far less than other brands, and instead of a horrible shampoo you get to use your own, and the kit provides a bond builder conditioner instead (which I thought wouldn’t do much but after 30 mins in cling film it resurrected my very weird, straw feeling hair). I put shades eq (7P) on my level 7/8 lifted hair and it came out way too dark, more like level 6, so I used this only 2 days later and before I’d even finished applying it the colour was fading. I rinsed for 10 mins - just in case because who can be bothered to go through that again and then wrapped in a towel, waited an hour and rinsed again - Google Ai told me to, and they’re always right. My hair is as it was before my toner mishap, which is a bit meh because I was here days ago, but the product did what it was supposed to. Perfectly in fact. I think it might have got out a little of an old black box dye staining that I thought wouldn’t budge and had left a faint warm tint (just a bit darker than my overall hair but it appears to be gone now). If it reoxidises I promise to update my review, but honestly this was the best colour removal process I’ve had bar Schwartzcopf colour remover (but that’s a bleach and it will cause crazy problems if not used properly). Also I have tailbone length hair and two boxes was okay. I panicked because I thought it wouldn’t be enough but massaging it in did the trick. I’m grateful to the reviewer who advised I empty the bottles into a bowl, it made the application much easier, you can really empty the bottles out this way, less stress.

Rescued me from a hair dye disaster
I had a disaster dying my hair ‘medium golden brown’ - it came out black and looked awful! I asked chat GPT what to do and it recommended washing with a clarifying shampoo (didn’t make any difference) and then using this product asap. I was really worried about using it, but my hair is a few shades lighter now. It does seem a bit ginger brown but I don’t mind as its so much better than the jet black. The lotion smells, even after several shampoos but I’m accepting that as a minor inconvenience and using a perfume to mask the smell!

Would buy again, but the smell is HORRENDOUS
Wasn’t expecting miracles but the development time on this was shocking. My hair is not heavily coloured at all, but I did use a blue-black dye a year ago and it had left a dark band as my hair has been growing out. Wanted to strip that out. Left this on as per instructions - after over an hour my hair looked almost no different whatsoever. On top of that, I bought two boxes, only one of which came with gloves. The smell is beyond awful. Normally I quite like the smell of hair dyes and had seen some people mention the smell in the reviews, but didn’t expect it could be that bad. Genuinely smells like a farmyard. Not joking. An actual farm, a real earthy manure smell that lingers for WEEKS. Was washing my pillowcases literally every single day. Was convinced my sofa had developed a bad smell so I steam cleaned it - nope, just the lingering smell of this product. I used it a month ago and my hair (which I wash daily) is still giving off a faint smell of this. Weirdly I think this wasn’t effective BECAUSE my hair wasn’t very heavily dyed - as I’ve seen good reviews, and there were sections of my hair where this did lift the colour. Also appreciated that there’s no bleach in it. The texture of my hair felt a bit weird for a few washes but absolutely zero damage like you’d get with bleach. If I had to I would buy it again but I’ll need to research if there’s any way to reduce the appalling smell it gives off.

decolour didn’t work, stripper worked AMAZING
i tried the decolour on demi permanent black and purple build up and it didn’t absolutely nothing but dry my hair out! (it did say on instructions though not to use on fashion colours so i guess the black i used counts too as i thought it’d atleast strip that out) but then a week later after giving my hair a rest and after seeing so many good reviews on the stripper i decided to give it a go and i’m so happy i did!! my hair was a dark green colour (stained after purple and black dyes) and it got the staining out AND made it a beautiful golden blonde!!! i was shocked with how amazing the results were, normal bleach wouldn’t have done this good of a job that’s for sure! so let this be a lesson, if you use fashion colours (INCLUDING BLACK, i didn’t realise this counts as a fashion colour too) don’t bother with decolour, use the colour stripper!!

Be warned! Chemical burns in your throat and nose
I never leave reviews but this was so bad I needed to write one!! Do not waste your money! I have used hair colour remover before and this brand is awful! 1 it dose not work. 2 the smell is that bad it lingers in your hair. I have chemical burns from the smell in my nose and throat! I can deal with smells I have a child and animals but this was so bad I am disgusted. This company is a shambles to even sell products like this. Don’t waste your money! It’s full of chemicals that burn your nose and throat yet dos nothing to change your hair! Dangerous and shocking product.

Does work, but my god the smell!!
OK so this does work pretty well but I probably wouldn't use it again. Here's why: I went from bleached orange to a very deep purple/burgandy (non permanent) with black ombre roots (permanent). I decided it was a bit dark and wanted to remove it. The kit comes like a box dye with two bottles you have to mix together. The stuff you have to mix into the one bottle is extremely thick and quite difficult to get it all out of the bottle. The worst bit is, this stuff STINKS. I'm NOT sensitive to smells but my god.. It's rotten eggs on steroids. The smell filled the whole room within about ten seconds. I couldn't eat or drink when it was on because I kept gagging, I'm not joking its bad. I washed it out after 45mins, I noticed that my hair was very very dry. It tells you to comb through the hair whilst washing out but I couldn't, my hair was that dry and tangled. The balm you get for after however helped with this. Its very nice, in fact I'd love it if they sold it as a mask. I'd say a decent 80% of the colour is gone so it does work and is gentler than bleaching. I'm back to ginger with a slight pink tinge, the black roots however have just faded to brown, so it didn't exactly remove the black permanent colour even though it said it would. Unfortunately my hair still absolutely stinks of rotten egg. I spent the whole night with a bad headache and felt very sick. I'm about to redye it now so hopefully that gets rid of it. I would recommend if you absolutely cannot bleach as like I said it does work, but seriously, you can't prepare yourself for the smell. I'm not at all exaggerating. For this reason I'd be very hesitant to use again. Also quite annoyed as I put it in my basket at 6.99 then two days later it was 8.99?
