Do not buy!!!!
It works for 4-5 use after that it get cloked with hair, and it is impossible to clean becuase when you open the head, there is a spring that pushes the blades out, and there is no way to put it back.Design is 50 years old primitive crap, do not but this apsolute garbage.I got philips norelco bg5025 instead. it is lower price, rechargeable, it has attachable extension fir your back, cuts much better with no discomfort.

I wish I had this years ago!
My Mangroomer got delivered today from Amazon. I glanced at the instructions (not that there's much to know about it), popped in a couple batteries, went into the bathroom, took off my shirt, and went to work. In about 10 minutes, my back was smooth. It was definitely the easiest solution I ever used for removing back hair.Pros=============1) It works extremely well.2) It's tricky in that you need two mirrors (a bathroom mirror and hand mirror suffice) and the motions you use don't come naturally. You kind of have to feel where you're moving it. But you get used to it and it's actually very easy, which is nice. Just relax and take your time and soon you'll have all the excess hair off your back.3) It kind of feels nice. Like a mild back scratcher. It didn't leave any marks on me and doesn't feel excessively sharp.Cons=============1) It's not the sturdiest appliance. The plastic is lightweight and if you drop it, I can see it breaking. It folds open but feels a little loose. This doesn't affect the performance as the pressure you apply keeps it rigid, but it still has that initial loose feel to it.2) The hair you shave off seems attracted to the plastic like static. A minor annoyance, but it's something that will have you wiping it off with a rag to get rid of all that hair clinging to it.Things to Note==============I see they sell extra heads. The fact that they do suggests that the heads have a lifespan. Also, there is no cap or cover for the blade. The blade itself isn't overly sharp or pointy, so unless you gouge yourself, you shouldn't have any scratches. It doesn't remove hair completely smooth like you just waxed or use a hair removal cream, but it still does a very very nice job.Advice for How to Use=======================I held it by the blade part of the shaft near the joint, reached back, and then brought it from the center of my back outwards. Switching arms, that took care of my lower back. I then used the full telescoping handle and went from above, like in the illustration, and that took care of my upper back. I recommend using the mirror to see where there's hair, and then just going by the feel of it. You can hear when the blade comes in contact with hair and can feel the parts of your back that you've done (like getting your back scratched). Then use the mirrors again to see where you missed. The important thing to do is to relax and take your time. Hold it with a firm grip since I don't recommend dropping it, and soon you'll get the hang of it.I've gone through a lot to remove my back hair over the years. For the first time, I can do it all myself with little effort. I'm definitely happy I got this item.I rate it four stars. It would have gotten a five-star rating had it been built a little more rugged. I see there is a rugged model, but for the pricing, I think this one should have been made a little tougher. Still, it's very very effective and it's easy. That makes it a good purchase.

Very Helpful Groomer
This was a Christmas gift for my hubby and he loved it. This was actually our second time buying one of these. It helps my husband shave his back without help. I think the price was fair and speed of the groomer is good.

Mangroomer Back Shaver
My back is pretty hairy, normally not the hairiest at the beach or the gym, but usually a close second or third. I have a lot of hair on my shoulders as well. Anyway, I was tired of looking myself with all that hair in the bathroom mirror (my wife was probably tired of it, too, but she was too nice to say anything about it),and wanted to give the MANGROOMER a try before something more radical like waxing or laser removal. My first impression on opening up the packaging is that this thing is very cheaply made. It is constructed out of flimsy plastic and it looks and feels like it could break quite easily. The operation of the button and slider mechanism that extends the handle is not smooth at all. I had expected this from the reviews I read here, but it was still a disappointment given the price.OK, but how does it work on a hairy back like mine? I put in 2 AA batteries and went to work. Initially, I did not think it was working. Plus, it stung quite a bit when it grabbed hairs (note to MANGROOMER - higher quality blades would be nice!). Nonetheless, I continued to plug away - up, down, sideways, diagonally, and eventually I saw that the hair was, in fact, coming off.The handle is ingenious. No problems reaching any part of my back. I used a hand mirror and a bathroom mirror to guide myself. With a little practice, I found that I could aim it just about anywhere I wanted it to go. 45 minutes and two sets of Energizer batteries later, my back was reasonably clean, albeit with red marks all over (which went away after a day or so). My skin was also quite tender for a few hours afterwards. My back was not completely smooth. There was a bit of stubble, but nothing you could see from more than 3 feet away. I assume that, much like an electric razor, if I keep using the MANGROOMER over time the shaves will get closer as my skin adjusts.I would use the MANGROOMER in conjunction with another product, like the Phillips Norelco BG2020, or maybe even a regular disposable razor. The BG2020 is more comfortable and the razor probably shaves a bit closer. Unfortunately, you just can't reach all areas of your back with either of them. Use the BG2020 or a razor on the areas you can reach, and the MANGROOMER on the areas you can't. Have not tried the Razorba product, but I did not think it would work for me, at least at first, given the length and amount of hair on my back. Now that I've got a good start, though, I might give it a try.
