Excellent quality, color and look. I highly recommend.
We researched LED flood lights for quite some time because we wanted to make sure that the light was soft and the bulb looked like a normal flood light. These bulbs are excellent and we have been extremely pleased! We have replaced over 100 lights in our home with these and we highly recommend them. They are also dimmable so I didn't have to worry whether they would work with all of our dimmable light switches or not. These lights also look very good. You don't see the individual led lights, but see a normal looking flood light. We have had LED's in our homes for the past 3 years and they have come a long way. You could see the individual led light bulbs with the older generation leds, plus we had several that broke within the first month. We have not had one break out of the many that we installed earlier this year. The color is also very warm and perfect for a home.

Very good light, but will not work with Dimmer
I did quite a bit of research on LED light bulbs before I made my first purchase, like most people I wanted to make sure I was getting the best bulb for the money and our house. I decided on the Philips for a number of different reasons, including the fact that these will work with dimmer switches. I have been slowly replacing all the can lights first, about 4 or 5 at a time. This last time around I finally got around to the single light in the master bath. This is the only can light in the house on a dimmer switch (digital dimmer- Cooper 9534DS-K) , so if you go in during the night you can turn the light down without getting temporally blinded. Immediately after installing the light it came on. I looked at the switch at it was off. I turned on the light, and it just flashed. I tired adjusting the brightness from low to high and back down, and again all it did was flash but at the different intensity levels. With the light switch off the light remained on, but at a very low level, and did not flash. All other lights not only visually look good when turned off, but look good turned on. The light is perfect and much brighter. There is a slight delay (maybe a second or two) between flipping the switch and the light actually turning on, but no complaint here. I have also noticed that there is only a delay when your turning on the light for the first time in a couple hours. If the light was previously on, there is no delay or short enough where it isn't noticeable. So far I haven't had any issues with buzzing, or once again it might be too faint to even notice. Since I only have one can light on a dimmer switch, I can't justify returning all lights, but it is the reason I only gave the item 4 stars.

Works great, nice natural light
We have this installed in our kitchen. It works great and gives a more natural light than our old traditional filament based bulb did.

Well made, dims well, but noisy
I have bought about 10 different models of LED bulbs, including a number of Philips bulbs. A small test jig with a dimmer was used to try them out. This one was one of the loudest of the group, buzzing along with the 60 Hz power source. It isn't super loud, but louder than the others I've tested.

6 years going strong - minor RF interference FM radio weak stations - works with dimmer
Phillips BR40 LED 800 lumen 14.5W 165mA 2700k 9290002199 ( phillips internal id ) price paid April 2014 $15 orig list price: 31.50 There are more efficient brighter l.e.d. bulbs these days but possibly still worth buying if you see it hugely discounted. Recently added a Leviton Decora Smart Wi-Fi Plug-in dimmer and Google home. Dims fine at 5% increments with buzz only audible if I put my ear right up close. One is used as an up-light in a table lamp with no shade. No glare when viewed from side. The others are down lighting in kitchen chandelier that I can reach to use one two or three. The light is soft diffuse narrow flood. Not good over the sink where I prefer a brighter whiter narrow beam. FC measurement today was 540 FC one foot above or 5800 LUX using Lux Light Meter app for S7. May have dimmed over time, not sure. Build quality is well above average with a high quality appearance, integrated heat shield. Upper ring is metal powder coated aluminum-silver which is the only part that gets uncomfortable to the touch. Well designed heat sink and air cooling likely accounts for the long life. LIFX BR30 color wi-fi is what I'd buy today.

Great light to replace higher wattage incandescents.
This light gave us more lumens and great "color" in our family room and kitchen. I highly recommend it. I have bought an additional 10 bulbs for other areas of my home.

Love these
Great flood lights! I wanted to go a little brighter in my kitchen usually I use 65W, but after talking to an electrician who stated because they were led and do not get as hot I can go up to 75W. These lights look beautiful and were just what I needed.
