Metafile Complete Set Cream

My wife bought a day bed, and wanted to use the drawers in place of filing cabinets in the same space. I bought two of these (should have bought another set) and the installation was simple, and they work flawlessly. Trimming the bars to length isn't trivial (the bars have to be strong enough to hold a bunch of files), but a diamond blade on the circular saw had little trouble Measurements don't have to be super-precise as it gets covered up, but be careful not to mangle the bars. Overall, I'm ready to buy that third set I need.

This product performed better than expected. Installation was flawless, and it's a quality product. I would recommend to anyone wanting to add file rails to a wooden file drawer.

I was able to convert all my drawers into file holders with these. Incredibly sturdy and doesn’t bow under the weight. A pain in the butt to install. Measure, measure, measure before you install is all I can say. I used a small hack saw to cut the bars to length. Takes some patience to cut through it, but once you get about half way through you can just snap it in two. I think the price was way too high and that’s the only reason I’m giving this 4 stars.

I had custom built-in cabinets installed in my office, but the carpenters did not do the file drawer hardware. The drawers were non-standard in size (a little over sized for letter sized file folders) so the fit was 'interesting'. I ended up buying these as they were exactly what I needed, but with a bit of customization.First, the rails are solid metal - you have to cut them with a hack saw to size, and the same for the covers. Also, the plastic things you screw into the wood to hold the rails has a screw on top and bottom. Good for stability, but bad if you have drawers like mine where they are just tall enough to let a file folder hang. I cut the top part off and attached with the bottom screw only.So, it was what I needed, but I had to customize to fit my particular drawer.

Loved this system! I needed to add hanging files to a wide drawer and was afraid that a free standing unit would never stay in place. This system was easy to install, will never move out of place and looks very neat and professional.
