From middle management to senior this book is a must.

This book was recommended to me by a trainer at a previous job and I have bought and used it since. The competencies in this book are great and helping self identify areas of strength and weakness in yourself in the working environment. This book is really helpful for having review conversations with your manager to be able to promote yourself and show you can identify areas of improvement and put into action plans to address and improve on those areas.

Prior to purchase, I had used a competitor's product for about 15 years--updating with each new edition.I believe this book is the most concise and prescriptive resource I have come across. I recommend it to those involved with professional development of supervisors and leaders. I can see a use for some e-level development. It's very useful to work with development plans following a 360 feedback. I have used it to assist leaders with their staff development. It's useful for skill-based or competency-based performance improvement plans.If you want a "quick read"--however, this is not the book's strongpoint. Rather, if you want granularity and detail--this is it.Recommended!

A great resource for developing self and your team, especially combined with the 360 done using Lominger competencies. Description of each competency includes a reading list, for further exploration, so this book can be the best system for one’s ongoing self-education (I.e. your peers tell you where you need to grow through a 360, this book tells in a very consice form how to improve there, and gives a reading list for that specific area as well).

Probably the best business self help book I have ever read its not something you read its information you need to do to better your self in the work place. The amount of topics in this book is amazing and is good information. You will need to conduct tasks based on your needed area of improvement. I had to work on political savvy and now use this book to mentor my A-players. I highly recommend this book

This is like a thesaurus for life! I manage people (as well as my own development) and find this very handy when writing performance reviews, or coming up with ideas on how to help individuals in my team excel or constructively focus on areas of improvement. It has broadened my ability to think more deeply about personal strengths and strengths in others, and articulate intuitive assessments. It's a really handy desk reference. I bought two copies, (one as a gift) both used and were pleased in what I received.
