Worth The Price!
I'm very satisfied with this purchase. The price is reasonably cheap. The picture is reasonably good, the remote is easy to operate, and I love the fact that it has Roku included.

Defective panel
I'm sure this would have been a great TV had it not arrived defective. I think JVC may have some quality control issues. Another reviewer had a very similar defect with the large black area just to the right of the centre.

Great size tv for the price
Great size tv for the price. The only downside is playing movie files from a storage device. The movies must be converted to a certain file type. The other downside is that it lacks computer cable connection That Is Why I give it 2 stars. I The Than That If You Are Just Looking For A 65" TV without those bells and whistles than this would be great TV.

Very Good Picture Quality; Roku Stick Provides Smart TV Features via MHL Input; Basic Remote
Rest assured, this is a very good HDTV despite the low price of $900 (Costco, and elsewhere). It is selling well at Costco. The JVC brand HDTV is licensed to AmTRAN, a Taiwan based company (which also assembles many Vizio brand TV's).This is a 65" LED backlit (not edge lit) LCD with overall very good picture quality, a bundled Roku Streaming Stick providing "Smart" video streaming functions, and basic everyday controls. Motion blur was fair, effectively a 60Hz set rather than the claimed 120Hz -- it is particularly noticeable in scenes with fast movement.PICTURE: overall "very good" -- picture displayed very fine details, color accuracy was very good, and contrast was good so images had lifelike looks. Images with gradient display transitioned well, without coarse lines or visible banding. Picture quality is superior to the $800 RCA 65" and a little better than LG's budget 65" (the 5200 series).Manufacturers buy panels from multiple producers so there may be sample variances. The highly rated mid-price Samsung 60" 6350 model reportedly uses 4 different panels (Sharp and 3 others) and purists believe 1-2 of them are better than the rest.VIEWING ANGLE: best position is in front, with a loss of color and detail if sitting too far off to the side. Some LCD sets do better, but overall, all LCD sets suffer from this as compared to plasma (LCD panels produce images below the surface substrate, like have blinds when viewing off center, while plasma produce images on the surface).MOTOR BLUR - as mentioned, motion performance is fair and noticeable in some scenes with fast movement.SOUND - typical for thin panel sets; ordinary listening/viewing is acceptable, but won't produce full range sound.SCREEN REFLECTIVITY -- glossy screen surface and reflect nearby light sources like lamps and windows. Dark screen reduces glare from ambient light.REMOTE CONTROL: device is not backlit, buttons are generally small, and controls both the TV and Roku Streaming Stick, providing a unified feel like "real" Smart TV's. First time set up is just a few steps. TV power indicator is small, and comes on with 1-2 second delay after power-on which can confuse whether it is on/off. Screen lettering for over-the-air channels was small (harder to read from a distance) compared to screen size.CONNECTIONS: has 3 HDMI, with one as MHL dedicated to Roku Streamlining Stick, leaving 2 for, for example, Cable/Sat and Blu ray player. There is a shared component and composite input, which can be used for gaming if the 2 HDMI's are already filled.SMART FEATURES -- uses Roku Streaming Stick and is activated by a "Home" button on the remote, or via Input Select. Roku is WiFi only, and cannot connect via wired Ethernet if you have it. Roku has many "channel" apps which you download to the "hub" selection screen. The "hub" is icon based (vs. Sony's basic text based X-bar in 2013). With a moderately strong signal (rated as "good" by the device) in the basement (WiFi router in 2nd floor), streamed relatively flawlessly. The Roku menu was intuitive, and easy to navigate. Menu selection was relatively smooth & quick, perhaps due to fast processor. Netflix and Amazon loaded fairly quickly, and app menu selections and streaming loading times seem on par with devices with enhanced processors. The Netflix app is less graphical than the app in newer Samsung devices; the Netflix Roku app has a text "bubble" which provides narrative when you move the cursor over a program. TV itself, does not have WiFi or any firmware update. The Roku Streaming device was also "seen" as a network device - - I haven't explored if this offers additional features.PICTURE SETTINGS: these are from Consumer Reports:Picture Mode: CustomContrast (Picture): 50Brightness: 50Color: 54Tint: -3Sharpness: 0 (0 or low for ALL HDTV's).Color Temperature: WarmBacklight: 55Aspect Ratio: NormalMiscellaneous: RGB Gain and Offset = 128Film Mode = AutoAll other settings set to OFF or 0.Wall mounting - M6 bolts (manual incorrectly states M8) - weight without stand is about 53lbs

Great price for a good tv
Still playing with it but the picture is clear and clean. The controls such a on/off and channel changing are a bit delayed like the tv has to think about it for a moment. Otherwise great deal for the money.
