The pages were a killer! And amazing too

This is supposed to be a follow up to the Spiderman game, yet when Quentin Beck is introduced there is no indication that Spiderman knows who he is. The problem is, Mysterio is already established to exist in the game so this makes no sense. Outside of that, which to me really kills the "tie-in" aspect of it (along with Peter looking nothing like Peter from the game), it's not bad but not great. I'll also add that mine arrived damaged with some slightly torn and folded pages and the description did NOT say used.

If the first “Spider-Man” comic based on the Playstation video game, “City at War,” was a straightforward, if still-moderately-compelling retelling of a story that most readers had already experienced, then the second comic, “Velocity,” is a bit of the opposite: an all-new tale set in the universe of the game that, while entertaining, still never quite manages to “take off” in the way that the best Spidey comics do. Part of the problem is that “Velocity” doesn’t really do much to build upon the groundwork set up in the game: there’s very little connective tissue here, plot-or-character-wise, to the narrative of the PS4 game, which leads to a story that feels oddly disassociated from the franchise it’s ostensibly supposed to be tied in with. In fact, one would be forgiven for thinking that most of this story doesn’t even take place in the world of the game, so few are the connections.Still – what’s here IS compelling enough, with writer Dennis Hopeless doing a decent-enough job at crafting a mystery that’s at least interesting enough to make you want to see how it all wraps up. It also doesn’t hurt that the art by Emilio Laiso is strong, with several spreads in particular looking absolutely stellar, even in digital format.So yeah: not the great “Spider-Man Playstation” comic that we’ve been waiting for, but still decent-enough. Here’s hoping that the third comic, “The Black Cat Strikes,” is finally the one that lives up to the storytelling gold standard set forth by the game.

This issue of Spiderman is really great for the fact the story and the artwork are amazing. Shows what Ben looks like for the first time in the game verse as well. Hope they keep going with this particular game universe in comics. This issue adds new villains and new ally/possible side kick. Highly recommended to all spidey fans.

An ok Spider-man comic. Yes I know it is called Velocity, but that does not mean the story has to be so rushed. Everything happend so fast it is hard to keep track of it. The case itself is a little obvious.New York is being haunted a ghost is beating up jerks. After MJ has a runin with the "ghost" Spider-man investigates, trying to be her Arachknight (sorry could not resist) in a new suit.As cool as the suit look it is a little close to Ironman territory for me. The story is ok the artwork is good, but the strongest thing about this is Peter and MJ's relationship. They are actually forging a partnership.The book also contains s all the regular covers at the start of every chapter, but also smaller versions of the variants in the cover gallery.

A excellent addition to the Spider-man PS4 universe. A interesting story with some fantastic art, a must read for any one who enjoyed the game.
