As someone with ADHD who struggles with making meals, this has changed my life. It cooks pasta just as good as boiling it on the stovetop and all you have to do is put it in the container, add water and pop it in the microwave! The portion guides on the top are helpful, and you can cook a decent amount of pasta at once. It’s easy to clean and it is slim for easy storage, this product has been absolutely wonderful and I have no complaints! Definitely worth the investment!

(Minor edit at bottom)I am a big pasta fan; as a grad student I didn’t have much time to cook so I ate it every other night, but it was always a pain to have to go through the whole process of waiting for it to boil and then struggling to strain it. So when I learned I could do it all in the microwave, I thought it was too good to be true.Yust put your pasta in a measuring cup first to figure out the portion size and follow the recommended water level and time for the portions/type of pasta. At first I would watch the microwave like a hawk, scared it’d blow up or something. But it worked perfectly fine, and though it was scary pulling it out of the microwave for the first time, it was SO EASY to strain. But while it worked I wondered if the hassle of checking on it was worth it, and if I should return it. But I decided to keep giving it a shot, and once I felt comfortable, just went with the recommended times without constantly checking the microwave.Y’all, I can’t go back after this. It is so easy to plop in and forget about it until the timer goes off, mix the pasta a bit so nothing gets stuck, and put it in again. No worries about it boiling over from being unattended, and SO MUCH EASIER TO CLEAN. Having a strainer built in is the BEST THING EVER no more almost burning myself.If you are a college student, know one, have a small kitchen (or no kitchen), don’t like cooking, or simply love pasta and want an easy way to make it, GET THIS. I wish I had known about this when I lived in a dorm, I would have used it all the time.EDIT: I have moved apartments, and tragically the fasta pasta doesn't work with my microwave because it is 1) very small, and 2) is always turning so a long container is not gonna work out. So if you're using a tiny microwave from Target like I am, it's not going to work out. I imagine this could be a potential problem in dorms, so essentially if your microwave's turn table doesn't turn off, and it is small, you may be out of luck. I have sadly had to return to using the stovetop.

I bought this because my 12 year old wanted to learn to cook. We tried initially with gas, and they left the burner in the igniter phase. We tried this and they seemed motivated enough to use it. With daily use since purchase, this also has been used by my 8 year old. With this cooking tool, children can be supported to contribute meaningfully and develop their cooking skills in safe ways with guidance, supervision, and easily develop the learning of life skills so that we all feel good about making dinner.Although this is a 5 star product for me, note that supervision of children is required as there is no 'click' fit to secure the lid. What keeps it tight is kids small fingers, and the smaller serving sizes we tried did indeed work with the little hands. We are able to very quickly cook a second helping if extras were needed, so that raised the star to a 5 as well, despite the lack of secure lid.It cleans exceptionally easily. I got bright red so it is easy to say "look in the cupboard and get the red thing". They already know what "the red thing for cooking pasta is" after one use. The cooking chart is cool, and I will laminate it for the kids to have a reference, since we keep a number of pasta styles around. The principal is pretty simple though, in determining "size" it coincides with numbers and services and water. This ease of use can translate well into portion sizing when they are older, and combat obesity and other overeating, though I am not sure that was the design for this. It is simple enough a child with supervision and guidance can utilize the fasta-pasta, which makes me feel great about the purchase. It's also always fun when there is something kids can do to help with dinner. I am especially grateful for options that do not involve using flame and gas to teach independent cooking skills.

Used for first time, pasta turned out perfect using the guidelines. For me, it would be better if the water level markings stood out more. I'm elderly and had difficulty reading them. Much easier than the big pot of boiling water.

Works as advertised, I like how easy it is to use and very easy to clean up! Would buy it again.

It is better than using too much water in a pot and is shorter but not that short. Did a nice el dente spaghetti. What I’m not hit about is the lid didn’t snap and felt I had to grab it tight while carrying to sink.

Easy to use and no watching the pot. Perfect pasta followed directions on timing. 👍

this has made dorm room life so much better!! we don’t have a kitchen in our room and this really opens up the possible for meal options. as athletes it’s important we’re eating enough and this is a great way!

I love this so much! Super easy to use, includes a manual to guide you on how much pasta and water to put in and includes like 10 different types of pasta. Doesn't stick, it's too big to rotate in my microwave but it still cooks perfectly. You don't have to stir it, it doesn't boil over. Super great if you don't have a stove to cook or if you're feeling lazy. Some reviews say it's dangerous or burnt them, I think it would be really hard to get injured by this unless you turn off your brain before taking it out of the microwave and draining it. Yes the lid doesn't actually secure on, but it doesn't need to. You drain it on one end, and hold it on the opposite end. The water only comes out of the end you aren't holding. So why would it burn you? Anyway LOVE IT!!

I wasn't sure with the product when it first arrived but now it is utilised very regularly. It is so simple to use and it cooks pasta to perfection every time. Just pop in the amount of pasta you require, cover with water to the upper graduated mark, into the microwave for 10 minutes set to high and that is it. It is important not to put the lid on when it is in the microwave. The lid is put on after it comes out so that you can drain the pasta, the water comes out of slits in the lid at one end. You just drain the pasta, take off the lid, allow it to steam for a minute and then pour the pasta into a serving bowl or directly onto a plate. The hard shiny surface makes it a breeze to clean with just a soft cloth and soapy water.Virtually an idiot proof way of cooking excellent pasta.

Thanks for the efficient and speedy delivery. I have tried it out and can recommend it to anyone looking for a quick pasta meal, cooked to perfection. With the arrival also of the Fasta Pasta recipe book, it opens up even more possibilities.

If you are only cooking for 1 or 2 the small size is perfect. I followed the instructions and it was cooked perfectly. So easy!! No pot or strainer to wash up after. I put it in the dishwasher and voila dinner chores done.
