Boils fast! Wood didn’t even get a chance to burn fully and it was screamin at me. Love this thing tho great for backpacking trips.

I ordered the middle size “Scout” model in aluminum as I expect to use it for two people simultaneously and will carry it in a backpack. It is quite light. Interestingly, the fire pot being of stainless feels almost as heavy as the entire aluminum kettle. Not that I mind. I chopped up some bits of scrap wood and plane shavings (see photos). This amount was sufficient to boil the filled kettle in 5 minutes flat and to be fair, it took almost a minute for the fire to really get going strongly. After refilling the kettle a second time the remaining embers were adequate to get the water warm but not boiling. Several handfuls of fallen autumn leaves helped a bit but you’ll need quite a lot of them to boil a pot of water. A small handful of fine twigs finished the job quickly. I don’t suppose that a fire will last long enough to do any meaningful cooking with the kettle but I don’t see that as an impediment to its overall usefulness. All in all I am quite pleased.

I can not wait to try this piece of kit in the woods! I am impressed with the craftsmanship of he Kettle, lightweight and well built. In todays throw away society this will last several generation's.

It is very efficient at boiling water quickly and with a tiny amount of tinder and twigs/small sticks! Not as great for cooking, using as a rocket stove, but does work...just gotta keep the water jacket full without it boiling over.

this thing is efficient as any gas burning stove, but without the need to haul gas around. works in ALL temps as long as you have some access to sticks you can boil water.

It's great. You can cook on pinecones and small sticks. Money very well spent

Kelly Kettle ist insgesamt überzeugend, nur schade, dass das Alu-Unterteil nicht umgedreht in das Oberteil passt. Für platzsparenden Transport wäre das ja wichtig. Produktionsfehler? Möglicherweise ja, denn beim Edelstahlteil mit 1,1 l passt es - so wie auch bei einem anderen Aluteil von Freunden. Also: aufgepasst und eventuell mehrmals bestellen und zurückgeben, bis zwei zueinander passende Teile dabei sind...

Great piece of kit, works really well and boils fast with very little fuel

I bought this kettle and am very very happy with it. It's easy to light using any old sticks and leaves you find around your camp site and it boils over a liter of water in about 4 mins - tea for all the family!! You can keep feeding the fire easily from the top too. It was sooooo easy for me and the kids to get this going and keep it going. That's the key - it was EASY!! The ease comes from the rocket stove action where the air gets pulled up the funnel quickly causing a very hot fast burn. Easy Easy Easy. My daughter actually said, "Lets not roast marshmallows over the BBQ pit anymore, let's do it over the kelly kettle". We bought the pot support too and are going to do some cooking tomorrow by the river. Love this thing!!
