Originally: Buyer Beware; Today: A Fine Pen
UPDATE 17 Oct 15: I contacted Visconti directly concerning the issues I was having and received a new nib. Since then, the pen has functioned flawlessly. It writes thicker than I would have liked, but it is an absolute pleasure to write with and I have no complaints other than feathering and bleed through on low quality paper (not a big deal). I've flown perhaps a dozen times on flights from 2 to 14 hours and have not had an issue with the converter or nib leaking. I am using Baystate Blue as my ink, and the combination of the bright blue and fine writing has made it so I cannot and do not loan out this pen at all anymore after several people took it for a "field trip." My end conclusion, is this is a fine pen and one I am glad I purchased.Absolute garbage. For a $150 pen from an otherwise fairly well respected manufacturer, the Eco-Roller is a complete let down. I have gone through two nibs in four days since receiving the item despite only filling the converter once. While being able to use fountain pen ink in a rollerball is a neat feature, the shoddy quality and overinflated price tag make this pen a horrible deal. As far as finishing details, the pen is fine. I would say it's similar to some Pilot fountain pens I have that are a fifth of the price, and no where near as high quality as my Montblancs (who Visconti is attempting to compete with). I do not recommend purchase and I will be returning the item.

Awesome new style pen
I am a fan of good fountain pens. In my most recent visit to a pen store, I was shown this new pen. The proprietor told me that "folks who like fountain pens love these -- especially for travel; its new."Yes, he was right. I love this. The pen is solid visconti, good expected quality there, but this weird roller-pen -- it writes like a fountain pen, but isn't. It feels very fluid like a fountain pen, but no leaking in travel, and.... I can let anyone use it -- to paranoia that one usually has over loaning out fountain pens (only one person should use a fountain pen, because the nib wears to a writers individual style/pressure). It is a roller pen, so it wears evenly no matter who uses it!I just finished writing and addressing 50 cards -- good card stock -- no problem. Cheaper envelope -- no problem, no bleeding. It seems to be able to write on any surface. Love it.It comes in only one nib for now (no fine, medium or heavy), and it is a bit on the thicker side, not at all fine. I usually like fine, but I quickly got used to the wider flow of this pen,If you are a fan of fountain pens but find yourself using gel pens because they are more practical -- try this pen instead. If you are a gel pen user and aren't sure about fountain pens -- try this pen to find out why some people are nutty for the fountain.Overall, strongly recommend. Price on amazon of $150 is what I purchased it for in a street pen shop

Cheaply made for $150
Great concept, but the pen is cheap thin plastic. The shaft cracked after a few months use where the refill screws in. I sent it back to Visconti for repair and they simply glued the pen back together, with a visible crack line. NOT what I would have expected. Disappointed in both quality and service--BEWARE!

Writes like a dream but short-lived
A lovely pen to use but the barrel has split and it is just outside its three month warranty.
