Absolutely Perfect for the Bodum Chamord 12 cup. I suggest you hurry up an buy your backups NOW
I'll start by saying that at the time that I wrote this review there were 39 highly positive reviews and three less than positive or negative reviews. That means that as of right now, 94% of the people that reviewed this carafe strongly feel that it is equal to or better than the Bodum brand that it's designed to replace. Now that statistic alone should tell you something. I'm a French Press snob and I simply would not accept an inferior product. Let me tell you, the three (4%) of less than positive reviews of this carafe, simply by the nature of pure mathematics and physics, are not logical and are simply wrong.Although the dimensions of the carafes are ever so slightly different (5.2 x 5.2 x 8 inches for the BonJour versus 5 x 5 x 8 inches for the Bodum) This carafe works every bit as well as the Bodum in ALL respects. I've read the less than positive review that this carafe dribbles when pouring because the spout is not designed as well. THAT SIMPLY IS NOT TRUE!!! TAKE MY WORD ON THIS AND don't believe that other review it for a minute!!! The spout on the BonJour is slightly narrower than on the Bodum; this provides for a more accurate pour than the Bodum. I have experienced a little dribble with the Bodum brand from time to time but not with this one. There's also a review that claims that that this carafe is "looser in the holder" and that the press gets stuck in the bottom. This implies that the diameter of this carafe is smaller than the Bodum. That's simply a false claim and physically impossible asthe FACT of the matter is that THIS CARAFE IS 0.2 INCHES LARGER IN DIAMETER than the Bodum so if anything, it would be tighter, not looser! Again, this is just a physical impossibility proven by the logic and undeniability of mathematics. Furthermore, many reviewers have pointed out that this glass is thicker. When that's taken into account along with the fact that it's a larger diameter; well the review about it being looser in the frame is unsubstantiated and completely without merit. I don't understand the purpose of those reviews. If you are using the Bodum Chambord line of presses then this carafe, at current prices, is the way to go. There are other lines of Bodum French Presses and I can't speak for this carafe as a replacement for them but for the Chambord line, which I think is the finest, it's a "better than the original match. Disregard the ever so slight (0.2 inch) difference in diameter. You will love the fact that you bought a superior replacement carafe for one third to one half the price of the Bodum.Needing to buy replacement carafes is a given if you use a glass French Press. We use ours every day and probably buy an average of two carafes a year. Because it is stronger and thicker glass, I expect this brand of carafe will not need to be replaced as often. Regardless, we keep three on hand at all times but now that this one is available for $17 while the Bodum is currently selling for $35, I'm going to buy two more before the word gets out and the price goes higher; which it will; or the price of the Bodum will come down. We were fortunate to buy our first one from Amazon Warehouse deals last week in "Used - Like New" condition for $15. Too bad they don't have any more. It is my hope that those three people will return theirs then they too can be bought for a couple of dollars less from the Amazon Warehouse Deals. One must strike while the iron is hot.It will be nice to have five on hand. Then, we'll have a clean carafe for each day of the work week and can put the grinds in the compost bin and clean the carafes on the weekends. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

Holding up great
I was washing the french press the other day and thought i should circle back to report on its performance. I bought this in 2017, apparently! So for 7 years it has held up great. even with a house full of people and visitors who have used this has given me no problems. The last carafe i had was thin glass that eventually shattered. This one is a thicker tougher borosilicate (similar to pyrex measuring cups). It cleans easily, no chips or stains so far.

Don't trash your press!
So... you've broken your carafe. Now what... Buy a new press for $40. Don't bother when you can simply replace the carafe! For just $15 (plus shipping and handling) you can keep that press from an eternity in the landfill and get back to pressing coffee in the press you've grown to love. Yes, I understand you. You need that press tomorrow and the standard coffee maker on the counter just won't cut it now. But it will have to...Well you could just go out and by a whole new press, but its hard to when all you need is that simple glass container that fits just right inside that metal frame. So here's what you do. Drop the carafe in your cart and complete your order! Next, dust off your old coffee maker and run some water through it to clean out the cobwebs. You'll need something to get you through the next few days as the carafe makes its way through the postal system and onto your kitchen counter. When you make your coffee you may want to add an extra scoop of coffee just fool yourself into believing you pressed your coffee. Patience is key here. As you go into press withdraw keep in mind, its just a few days...I can do this. In a few days your new carafe will arrive and I'll tell you there is nothing like going to the mail box and finding that brown box waiting in there. Ahhhhhhhh. Your press, carafe, and you are now one again. Life is good.

If you break your Bonjour French press carafe this will replace it.
exact replacement for your 8 cup press. Remove the broken pieces carefully and loosen the handle screw. slide in the new carafe and tighten the handle screw. I will have to be more careful in future but I'm happy my press works again!

Good product, a little tall
We broke the glass beaker in our French press and bought this as a replacement. But though it fits the metal frame perfectly, it’s a little taller than the original glass. So the plunger doesn’t quite go all the way down.
