For all those who think this tastes bad, even one reviewer said have a cookie nearby, we know they have a problem with sugar. Have a cookie nearby? No wonder you are sick. For those who have a low sugar intake I find this to be the most pleasing taste for a cough syrup. Do you like dates? Honey? Don't want a thick syrup but relief, I keep this on hand. Helpful. They have a nighttime version but I pretty much stick with daytime. I'm here to reorder. This is my go to in the winter and or spring when the winds kick up. Making golden milk helps with night time.

I confess I didn’t bother to read up on this before ordering. Was in a hurry and not much available at the time. One sip and I suspected more than a tad bit of alcohol. Had I bothered to read the box (clearly visible on this website) I’d have seen the “10.2% Alcohol” displayed prominently. To me one cough medicine is pretty much the same as another. After a sip of this, I ran a quick search on “ROBITUSSIN COUGH & CHEST CONGESTION DM“ just for comparison and found it contains 0% alcohol. So, not all makers see a need for it. What’s curious here is their “Non-Drowsy” claim, also printed prominently on the box. Gosh, I know lots of people who say alcohol makes them drowsy. Albeit, you’d probably need to down 2 or 3 bottles of this within an hour or so to get really sloshed. But, as drinkers know, 10% alcohol (20 proof) can pack some punch. By comparison, wine usually runs around 12% alcohol, and beer generally in the 4-6% range (varies widely). There you have it. I consider this neither a critical or non-critical review. Just thought you’d like to know before ordering. As far as clearing congestion, this seems about average to me. Didn’t like the oddly sugary taste. Kinda killed my taste buds - and shortly before dinner. But none of these meds ever tastes very good. Personally, I enjoy some limited alcohol with a meal, but not on an empty stomach.
