Very sturdy and safe!
I highly recommend this chair for anyone with a foot or knee surgery and also works well for elderly people to assist in getting in and out of the tub. Easy to assemble and lightweight. Very sturdy and no slipping. It’s an awesome product!

This is perfect! If you haven't seen/used one before, read this
Thought this was gong to be overkill, but it's perfect. Hubby couldn't walk on his own, couldn't stand for any length of time, and needed a slider-board to get on/off the bed or a chair. This saved the day and gave him as much bathing independence as possible. This chair is sturdy -he's 250 lbs and we have no concerns about him using this bench at all.. NOTE: The whole bench does NOT go into your tub! Look for videos on the web if you haven't seen one being used or if you haven't had a therapist explain it to you. Basically, the side with the handle goes into the tub. The other side sticks out of the tub so you can sit onto the end and swivel/shuffle around to get your legs into the tub. A simple towel under the legs sticking out of the tub will catch any water that might drip down onto the floor, but if you position your shower curtain right you'll never have that problem. If you're really worried about it, you could raise the legs that are on the outside of the tub so water won't run off that side. But again -we haven't had any water at all. If this could be reassembled to be just a chair (for when patients move up to that level), it would be perfect. But as a bench, it is just what we needed and are glad we got it!!

Absolute game changer for shower safety
This bath transfer bench was such a great help for my FIL. We were able to adjust the height perfectly to make sure he was able to shower safely and comfortably. Sturdy and well constructed as well as easy to assemble. We were initially concerned it might be wobbly or slide but it was very steady. The in out design also made it easy for him to dress in the bathroom even when not showering. It is a better height than the toilet. Highly recommend this for anyone really. It would have made it a lot easier for me if I'd had one when I had a broken leg instead of trying to balance on one leg while dangling the bum one over the side.

Affordable and easy tool-free assembly
Got this for my 71 yr old parent who recently had leg surgery. Assembles without any tools and is fairly intuitive even with the easy to follow directions. May be a bit tricky for folks without good hand/finger strength. Some of the fittings and pop-pegs were difficult to get aligned properly, but overall the parts worked as expected. Legs individually adjust so you can ensure the bench is level between the tub surface and out on the bathroom floor if there's a height variance. The seat back is the least favorable as it's not as sturdy as it should be. Do NOT lean back or expect the seat back to provide any real support. The position of the seat back will dictate which direction your side-supoort handle faces. Easy enough depending on your bathroom layout for right or left facing situations. For the money - seems acceptable.

Sturdy and Safe
We purchased this for post-surgical use and though that was months ago we still pull it out now and then. We're getting older and a stable way to get in and out of the bath eases the mind. It was easy to assemble, but it haven't had a lot of luck adjusting it so we just keep it tucked away at the botton of the linen closet. The surface is textured to help you stay safely seated and the caps on the bottom of the bench's legs keep it in place so it doesn't wobble or slide when you sit on it or stand. This is a good value for the buy and I definitely recommend it.

Great value and easy to assemble.
Replaced an aging (10 years old) Invacare tub transfer bench with this Carex tub transfer bench. The Carex tub transfer bench was pretty easy to assemble and no tools were required but a Phillips head screwdriver may make it easier for you to push in the pins on the legs when adjusting the height of the tub transfer bench. After it was assembled, I used it and it felt pretty sturdy. It didn’t wobble much as I was careful to make sure it was level before using it. The feet do a nice job of keeping the bench stable while protecting the tub with the rubber feet. A word to the wise, disassemble and clean the tub transfer bench thoroughly every time you clean the tub. A tub transfer bench can get pretty gross if it isn’t maintained properly. I like it and I would recommend it. Definitely a good value as it cost 1/2 as much as the Invacare tub transfer bench (but the last Invacare bench did last 10 years!). If the Carex tub transfer bench lasts as long as the Invacare did, I will be very impressed.

The fact that each leg height can be individually adjusted makes this bench work in lots of settings (e.g. one leg on top of a non slip mat) with the seat remaining level. If the user sits down on it while outside the tub, they do need to be able to lift their legs (in a seated position) over the side wall of the tub, so make sure this will work for your particular requirements. Bench is sturdy and feels secure, and is easy to clean.

Very sturdy and the handles make it easier to move into the tub. Used this when I broke my ankle and it made it easier to use for showering. It was also very easy to put together and take apart. It is also a good size as I was afraid it wouldn't fit in my small bathroom. The bench is textured so there's no risk of slipping off the bench into the tub. Highly recommended.

Installation was straightforward and there was no issue. All the parts fit together fine and it fit into the tub. The chair itself is light, which makes it easy to lift, but not as sturdy unless it is sat upon. Fortunately it has a broad base, so won't tip over that easily. It can easily take the weight of the user and is able to be used as support to get in and out of the tub. One gripe is that the shower curtain won't fit with the chair jutting out of the tub base, but with some curtain placement, you can still effectively keep the water from getting out.

I broke my foot a while back and needed a solid bench for the shower. After doing some research, I decided on this model. Shipping was pretty fast (3 or 4 days) no parts were missing or damaged and it took me 10 minutes to put it together following the instructions. I like this bench - it's light, feels really solid and because of it's extra length It's easy to be out of the actual shower area and then just move over into the stall. The legs have holes all over them to adjust each of them to give you a good solid footing between the sloping floor of the bathub and the level floor of the bathroom. It's unfortunate that I need this in the first place but this bench can help you make a lousy situation a little better.
