I've purchased plenty of things from Amazon, and it's only exceptional items that warrant my time to post a review. This is one of those (albeit unlikely) items, and here's why:* It's cute. The stainless steel finish matches my appliances beautifully.* It the ideal size for my coffee station, holding about 8 discarded K-Cups.* K-Cups drop into the container perfectly* It's very nicely made, with a flawless stainless finish, high quality plastic, and smoothly operating lid* Very easy to empty and clean. Just reach into the can, pull out the lid, dump, rinse (if necessary) and dry.There's just something simply satisfying about using this trash can. Maybe I'm easily amused, but it's something that brings me a little smile every day.

We recently purchased this little trash can as a solution to our coffee grounds problem. We use an espresso machine which creates discs of compacted grounds once it's done brewing. My better half likes to then spread these grounds in the yard to help the lawn but likes them to collect for a while. So, we needed a discreet place to store them between trips outside. This trash can is perfect. It matches our kitchen appliances and sits on one of our counters right next to the espresso machine. All we do is knock the grounds out of the filter onto the trash lid and they slide right in. No mess and all is hidden. It could store quite a lot too. I'd say it would hold about two weeks of grounds (more if you crumble the "discs") but we don't wait that long. It's easy to clean also. Just rinse under water as needed. Lid can easily be wiped with a dry cloth. Since it is fingerprint resistant, I've yet to need to polish it. The only minor disappointment was if we were to use a trash bag or liner, it would stick out. The inner layer does not pull out, nor have a way to wrap a bag around it like the larger Simple Human trash can we have. This trash can serves its purpose well and I'd recommend it to anyone needing a countertop trash can.

We recently downsized (1/3 of the square footage we previously had) and space in the master bathroom is at a premium. I like to keep my trash cans out of sight for a cleaner look and used to keep my bathroom bin in the cabinet under the sink. With the smaller space, I needed to do something to adapt so tried keeping the trash can on the floor but that really bothered me so I started looking for something I could put in the cabinet without taking up much room. This seemed to be the perfect solution - and it is!This is very small, but we usually only deposit kleenex, q-tips, cotton balls in it so it is working great for us. I need to empty it about every three days, but I like doing that anyway. I particularly like having the lid since it shares space with other bathroom items and keeping the trash out of sight and separate makes for a more pleasant morning and evening routine. The lid is perfectly balanced so once an item is deposited, it swings closed quickly and easily (and is level). The brushed stainless steel is very resistant to finger prints and if there are any, they disappear easily with a quick wipe. The top fits snuggly on the can so odors don't escape and the entire thing is very high quality.While this is labelled as a countertop trash can, it works well for me in the bathroom. Make sure you look at the dimensions so you aren't surprised by the size, but if it meets your requirements, it's a great purchase.

I am a 75 yr old widower and, my kitchen counter was always covered with the little Splenda pink packets, rip cords on milk cartons, other items to small to make the 5 - 6 foot trip to the trash can so, thought I'd give this product a try. YES, it's great, I now throw stuff into it every time and, will actually make the long ~(;>) trip 6 Ft for the big stuffJust an attractive small container that helps me keep my counter cleaner. The only drawback I found was, I didn't want to have to wash it all the time so, I remembered my wife had a box of cheap disposable shower caps in her bathroom, Since she doesn't need them in heaven, I thought I'd give it a try. So far, it has been about 8 days and, the "swing top" still swings and, the shower cap fits it great.I do not suggest this item for peelings, paper towels or, anything that is large. It is designed and, sized for the small stuff and if you aren't sure how much you collect in a day, just leave your small stuff on the counter for a couple of days. If it isn't a problem, don't buy it but as an example: 3 cups of coffee with three Splenda packets, a bowl of cereal with another splenda packet and, you already have a "PINK" covered counter. Oh, also, I take two pills a day that are foil and plastic wrapped.Yes, I AM TO LAZY to walk the six feet, and open the trash can. Or, at 75, smart enough to make life easy. Go ahead and treat yourself unless, your not worthy of time/energy saving stuff.ADDED INFO 3/13/2015: Forget the shower caps mentioned above! Since, I only put dry "stuff" into it, there is no need to use shower capsP.S. I'm still saving 4 to 5 steps a day by not walking to the BIG trash can. Every little bit helps. ~(;>})

I did my research with this to see if it would suit my needs and really thought it would. It is attractive and the top works seamlessly. But it is small. When you see the measurements realize that is the entire can so the body that will hold trash is smaller than you would think. Lots of people use this for k-cups and similar things. For that it would be great. I was looking for a small counter trash can for vegetable and fruits scraps and it just was not big enough for this purpose. The swinging top would block my fingers as I tried to push the scraps down to the bottom. I think this is a great product but just not meant to be used for food scraps.
