Genuine Echo 99944200908 Speed-Feed 400 Curved Shaft Trimmer Head for Echo GT Trimmers - no Universal Adapters Included

I take extraordinarily good care of my tools equipment and they last for years and years but as time passes things wear out. My trimmer bottom was on it's last leg and the OEM part was unavailable even on Ebay. I was extremely hesitant on buying this due to the fact that although sometimes things are made that claim to be easier to use they are just not quality made anymore. This trimmer head is an exception. It was super easy to install, super easy to use and was quality made. I used it all summer and it worked flawlessly.

Echo's own branded bump heads have thicker, higher quality plastic on the bump surface than the umpteen clones one can buy. With those the spring ends up poking out within months (because the plastic shell wore thing from regular use), it's awful. Just buy one of these and be happy for YEARS. Effortless loading and usage.

Bought this for my son because his previous head kept flying apart and unreeling the line on the spool. He had had enough of that! The Speed Feed 400 is great! We put it on an older Echo GT 251E, and it works perfectly. It took me longer to find a screwdriver to hold the head in place for the removal of the old head than it took to put the new Speed Feed 400 head on. Literally! Great Product!

None of the "universal" heads from the big box hardware store would fit, but this is what I needed. Installed in about 20 seconds.

Confusing trying to find the trimmer head for my weed whacker but now I will save this order and re-order it since these heads tend to wear out quicker than I expected. I wish they would make an improvement on this head since it was not easy to stop from breaking the line and having to re-thread it constantly. I think this appears to need a break in of about 3-4 uses before it stops breaking the line before it is consumed. I have used this about 10 times now and the last 6 uses have been free of having to re-wind the line before it is used up in the spool inside.

By far, this is the best trimmer head I have ever owned! It is very easy to install and quick to change the trimmer line when it runs out. I don't believe I will ever put another head on my trimmers.

I almost returned this because I didn’t think it fit the Echo GT 225. The instructions are horrible. I took the nut off the original head and pulled it off. The new head had different size threads so at first I didn’t think it was the correct head. I then looked for a YouTube video and found one where they took the next part off and there was another screw on the shaft under that part that the head screwed perfectly onto. See my photo and make sure you take off the part I am holding too. I gave a low rating for two reasons, extremely poor instructions and I also figured more people read the negative reviews than the positive ones. Good luck and if you have trouble search YouTube.
