Hindi Alphabet Writing Book - Vyanjan Lekhan (English and Hindi Edition)

This book was ordered for a 5 yr old in India that my family sponsors. It is the same as you would start out any pre-K kid, but also has English words in parenthesis. It's a useful educational tool for a good price.

I love this book! It is great for learning the Hindi alphabet. The only problems are that it doesn't give you the vowels and that two pages don't have the English translation of the letter- maybe a typo in the book? But it is great because it shows you step by step how to write each consonant and gives ample space to practice writing the letter many times as practice. I have only been using it for a few days and already recognized letters when I saw them on a website in Hindi! If you are interested in learning the basics of writing, this book is for you!

I wish I had read the reviews on this since some mention there are no vowels. How can a person learn Hindi without any vowels? This book was a disappointment. Luckily, it was cheap and does teach the consonants, so I gave it three stars.

This is an excellent way for your child to learn to recognize and write the Hindi alphabet. I enjoy it and use it as well!

Overall not a bad primer for a beginner and young children. However, it does not have any vowels to practice, and that is an essential part of the alphabet. I will make up my own. Fortunately, I purchased other texts that I can use to show my daughter how to write the letters.

Love this book for many reasons...it's a lot of fun to learn HIndi script and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to give it a try

This was pricey for a workbook. You can download many similar pages from their website, and that is REALLY NICE. I hoped that this would have tear out pages, but it does not. I think a child needs to practice each character more than once, so I've had to photocopy the pages or download extra sheets from their website anyway. It was a nice effort and I'm glad it's available. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't space to write the sample word as well. There weren't any activities - just writing each character. It would've been good if there had been something to color. You CAN get other activities from their website, though. Keep that in mind should you decide to purchase the book...they do provide some free 'support' activities.
