A nice alternative to cream of mushroom or chicken soup
Didn’t even know this flavor existed until I saw a recipe using it. It is a nice base for a casserole and I look forward to using it more in my cooking.

I use it in my soups and stews and roasts.
Can't go wrong with the price and the expiration is next year. Wished they would have bubble wrapped it because of the dents in the cans. Google "dents in cans" and some you have to throw away and some you can still use. I got lucky...this time. Good flavor and popular brand. Quick shipping!

So Much Better than Cream of Mushroom Soup!
My family never like Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup as a casserole ingredient or for any other use! It has no flavor and those nasty liitle pieces of mushroom do nothing for any casserole; except make kids pick them out and push away if they find them. If you really want a flavor that will help any casserole or recipe try Campbell's Cream of Onion! Admittedly it is often hard to find, but when I can't find it in the store (Walmart does not carry this product) I order a case from Amazon and I have a stash in the pantry when I need it. This has a wonderfully rich, smooth flavor when added to Broccoli casserole, roast in slow cooker, gravies, etc. and no little black particles of anything in the food. I don't know why Campbell's doesn't promote this flavor, it is my go to. Often times there is no need to chop onion if using Cream of Onion soup in a recipe, it is not a strong onion flavor, just imparts a roasted veggie taste, so good!

Was having a dinner the next day and I was missing this soup for casserole, arrived the next morning, tasted good, competitive price to grocery store!

This stuff is dynamite for making simmering sauces and sautés
Very good flavor and quality. My only reason for not giving it five stars is the price being a bit higher than other Campbells staple condensed soups. It isn't particularly special or difficult to purchase those ingredients and it's just silly that it costs 30 cents more per can! Good stuff though. A bit more convenient than Progresso's un-condensed product, although they serve the same purpose in my home cooking.

Love this stuff but
Great for cooking n I love it but the fact that the cans comes bent n I hate a bent can so I wish they would package them better to prevent damage

Surprisingly good
I decided to try a bunch of Campbell's soups for my diet and the French Onion soup is surprisingly tasty and satisfying. Very low calorie too.
