Fantastic, eco-friendly way to get to know your body
I've used Lunette for 3 years, and I just ordered my second one. So, in honor of my past coral Lunette, I decided to write a review! I decided up on the Lunette after some research online. I have never tried any other brand of menstrual cup, but decided on Lunette because it seemed to be a bit shorter than the popular diva cup, and seemed to be softer silicone after reading several blogs on the matter. I wanted the shorter cup because I think I have a fairly low sitting uterus, and I could have seen a longer style getting annoying and/or not fitting right. I also really liked the colors! There is a learning curve, but I got the hang of it after my first cycle. It stays clean very easily, but sometimes it does develop a smell after a year or so. Popping it on the windowsill in the sun for an hour or two helped to clear that right up. I do think, however, that about 3 years is the right amount of time between cup purchases. I am going to keep my old one around to keep in my backpack or bag or whatever for emergencies, but I do think that they just tend to get a little bit "grungy" after three years. I hadn't noticed it, really, until I bought my new one. I would recommend. Easy to use, no leaks after you get the hang of it (unless you're on your heavy day and just woke up-- sprint to the bathroom), and I think that my periods are just a much easier situation after switching to the cup. I had to use a tampon once during my last period when my period caught me by surprise and I had to borrow a tampon from someone, and I forgot how much I disliked the tampons. Once you switch, you forget what it's like to have just a super *dry* vagina because of the cotton. It also helps me to really understand just how much I bleed during my period, and what is happening.

I am SOLD on this so far!
After spending YEARS (yes years!) watching YouTube reviews on menstrual cups, I finally decided to spend the money and just try it. And I’m so glad I did. I was having to buy 2 large boxes of super plus tampons every month and they made my cramps worse. I already have “better” cramps (if that’s even a thing lol). I put the cup in around 4/5:30pm... took it out at 9:20pm and it had barely anything in it, which I thought was soooo bizarre since I had to change tampons so much! I wore a panty liner just in case and spotted hardly any at all. And that never happens... I normally I have to change tampons like every 1-2 hours (sometimes more often on my first few days) and I leak a lot especially if I’m constantly up and doing something. Using the cup tonight, I have been up cooking & dancing, cleaning and playing darts (I get bored while cooking lol) and I’ve had it in for 4/5ish hours without changing it and for it to have those effects already?! Yep I’m sold on it! I didn’t have to take it out while going to the bathroom (number 1 that is). I use rubber gloves too cause you gotta...you know. Lol! I’m sure I’ll get more comfortable and not have to use them, but then again...maybe not. At first I could feel the stem, but once I got to moving around it was like it wasn’t even there. Which was shocking because I assumed I’d have to trim it! I am so excited to continue using this and hopefully never have to go back to using tampons AGAIN! I chose yellow for no other reason than it is just my favorite color. Lol. For those thinking they should use size 2 because of a heavy flow...consider trying size 1 first, because I was checking out with size 2 before I changed my mind. I’m so glad I am trying this out. I am only giving this 4 stars because this is the first night I am using it, otherwise I’d definitely give this 5 stars! Anybody even considering trying these, just do it. If you don’t like it (which I don’t see happening) then just use whatever you prefer. I, however, will stick to this bad boy! *****Update***** This is my 3rd day of heavy flow while using the Lunette. Yesterday I left it in from 7:30am when I woke up (no leaks overnight or when I got up) until around 3:30pm and it had just filled up! I couldn’t believe it. In that time period, I would’ve had to change at least 6 or more super plus tampons and panty liners. Once again, little to no spotting. I’m changing this to 5 stars now because honestly, I don’t see myself ever using tampons again unless the cup isn’t cooperating with me on a specific day. I’m so happy I have decided to change my life by one simple buy! I also have much more motivation to do things, whereas I would normally stay in bed or even call into work my first two days of my period. I have 3 friends/family that are also considering this alternative! I LOVE MY CUP!!

Awesome in every way
The main reason I wanted a menstrual cup is to be more eco-conscious and end my contribution to the billions of pads and tampons that end up in landfills every year, but there are SOO many other reasons that I'm glad I did it! No more wasting money on tampons, no more running out, no more carrying a wad in my purse or having to have one in my pocket at all times during my period, no more painful removal of tampons because my period was lighter than I anticipated. With tampons I would always forget when I need to take it out or I would forget to take an extra tampon with me if I went out and would have to leave it in for longer than I should, then I was always worried about getting TSS or some infection. I usually do forget I have the cup in too, but that's ok because you can wear it for 12 hours and not worry about anything, plus it holds a lot more than even a super plus tampon does. The only problem I have is that during the few hours of my period, I get a bit of leakage. It don't think it is anything to do with the cup itself, I think it's just that my vagina muscles have to adjust to having it in there. Usually I can't feel it in there, but during that first 12-ish hours I can definitely feel it, like my vagina is trying to push it out. But then once I get acclimated to it down there, it's smooth sailing. I still wear a panty liner with it during my period, there are sometimes a few drops that get through, just like with tampons. I ordered the yellow cup, and like some other reviewers have stated, yes it does get stained. But who cares? We all know that blood stains. It's not like anyone but me is seeing it so it doesn't bother me one bit. I've had mine for over a year now and I love it. I agree 100% with all the other reviewers that say they would never go back to pads and tampons. I strongly hated having my period before and I would skip it as often as I could by just continuing with my birth control, if I could have had a hysterectomy just to end the period madness, I would have. But now I honestly don't mind having it! That's huge for me.

A lot easier to use than expected! I didn't quite believe that you couldn't feel anything while wearing it but I actually didn't feel anything! A bit tricky to take out but with a bit of practice i'm sure it'll be fine. I didn't try other brands before, this is my first cup and I'm very pleased with it !
