Works for me.
Cord worked perfectly for my application as I have a large open span garage with ceiling joists about eleven feet above the floor. Wanted power supply in middle of garage without having to install permanent elec. boxes at a reachable height. With cord plugged into boxes installed on ceiling joists it hangs to about 6-7 feet above floor, easily accessable, and allows me a ready power supply within a 15-20 foot lateral area.Had been hunting a product like this for a long time as I had previously seen one in an industrial application. Amazon is the only place I have found anything close. Was a little leary to order after reading some of the posted reviews about the length limitations of the cords previous customers had purchased but the one I received was as described and works well for my needs. Will probably order more.

This Cord is Doing the Job I Want It to Do
I have one of those Oreck vacuum cleaners that come with a very long detachable power cord...with no way to wrap said cord nicely around the vacuum.I decided to switch to a coiled power cord instead...and this one works nicely for my needs. This cord is thick, and quite heavy. Heavier than I expected it to be.I agree with some others that it is too expensive, but it's the cheapest 20-foot coiled expensive cord on the market I could find as of this posting.I hope I do not experience any insulation failures that others have reported.

Way over priced for Chinese goods, but works!
This was a very effective for my uses with a couple of downsides.1: The cord stretches when hanging. It has become longer as time has gone on much to my dismay.2: The price is outrageous, but I understand that it is not in high demand so it makes sense that it is more money.3: Chinese made. It's an extension cord with stranded copper wire. How much is really being saved making it in China and shipping it here?I custom made a cord for an off camera flash for use with an Alien Bee. The cord that comes with the Alien Bee is a very aggravating straight cord that is not really designed to be moved to multiple locations.

Too Heavy
I purchased this for my sister. However it was not exactly what she was hoping for. The coiled cord was much heavier than expected. She had one previously that she had for years and used in her beauty shop. It was light weight enough that she could move around easily with it. This one, not so much.

Best Coil Cord I Have Purchased. Made in USA.
Made in USA! I am surprised. Coleman Cable in Waukegan IL is the manufacturer. The cord used is high quality Southwire 16/3 SJEOW type, another bonus because they are also made in USA, one of the best. This cord is heavy duty and even though some think it's pricey you get what you pay for. I hooked it up to one of my cutting machines that has an overhead power trolley, worked perfect. The coils are tight but work like they should, yes it's heavy, it's supposed to be because it is real power cord.

Not as Described
The description clearly states that this cord expands from 4-20 feet, and since I needed approximately 15 feet of cord I thought this would be ideal. Not the case...the attached factory tag says 3 to 10 feet, and after I measured it, stretching to ten feet is the absolute maximum. So now I must purchase an additional cord. Had the product description been accurate, I would not have purchased this.If you need a coiled cord that's 10 feet or less, this is a good quality cord and the price is reasonable. If you need a longer one though, this isn't for you.

Too tightly coiled. Too heavy.
I couldn't move my machine as I expected, there was too much pulling. The design was pulled a part. Too coiled.

A Worthwhile Compromise for a Portable and Heavy Duty Cord
Good portable all season extension cord. The 16 gauge wires should be suitable for most power needs. Its length is a approximately 6 feet when not stretched. It is reasonably priced at $34/ea. If you want an extension cord that is better than your typical indoor loose cable but not as bulky as an outdoor cable coiled on a spring reel, then this is a very good option.
