I first ordered these batteries in May to help save money on my kids’ battery needs. In particular, my oldest child still sleeps with his sound machine from childhood. Several years back, they discontinued the machine and the cord shorted out. The only option keeping us a float right now was (4) AA batteries. Of course, he would leave it on after waking up and so normal batteries would last for a couple of days at most. Like you are doing now, I started searching Amazon for rechargeable options. I found the Powerowl brand and was instantly turned on to all the positive reviews. Also, they were on sale! After purchasing, I found them very easy to use. A month or so later, I returned and bought more AA batteries (without the 2nd charger). We’ve had zero issues with them until recently. I noticed that several of the batteries were discharging too quickly and when attempting to charge, were showing fully charged even though a multimeter confirmed they were not. These are really top quality batteries with a good quality charger. Only problem is the usb cord is too short if you are putting on a table. It works on a countertop. But there is no plug for the wall.

Rechargeable batteries are a bigger initial investment because you have to buy the charger and the batteries cost more but the batteries last longer and are reusable. I use the batteries in my photography devices and a few remotes. Since purchasing the charger and batteries I have not needed to buy batteries again. I keep a set in the charger, so if a set goes dead during use, I can quickly grab another.

At first I loved it. We use a LOT of AA batteries and that this could charge them independently was a huge advantage. Even more so when it states that they call all be different mAh that is a huge game changer from all the chargers we previously had. However it stopped working and I don't know why. I haven't even had it for very long (purchased in January '24 and failed in July) After being in contact with the company they have very proactive and would highly recommend them. I think the power cord that it came with might have been the issue if not it could be the power port. The model I got uses a USB micro B cable not a USB C and I didn't have a back up cord to test it at the time. I have since retested it with a better cord and it seams to be working properly for now and so I updated my review The company does make another charger that does AA AAA C & D batteries and had two power ports one is the same micro B that this model has but it also has the newer USB C. I have a review of it posted on its page but I will share some thoughts here as it does the same thing this one does and you could be deciding between the two of them. For AA and AAA charging I would recommend the above model because the bays are better defined. In the AA AAA C D because it can accommodate the larger batteries they share bays. example it can charge 8 AA or AAAs at a time but only 4 C or Ds this is because they take up two bays and because the bays have to accommodate for that sometimes I think the AAAs don't line up right and shift a little. We have one of the AA AAA chargers and two of the AA AAA C D chargers because flashlights use a lot of batteries and only charging 4 at a time is too slow. If you are looking for a gift for a new family/baby shower I would highly recommend getting them one of each, batteries, and power cords. If you are looking for a house warming I would recommend the AA AAA C D I hope that helps you.

The charger is first rate. It is not a fast charger, so don't expect your batteries to be recharged in an hour, it's more like 6 hours for a discharged battery to be fully recharged. It lets you charge any number of batteries at once, from one up to eight. You don't need to pair batteries up as required by other charges I have owned. Device charges via usb. A usb cord is included, but not an adaptor to mains power. But you probably already have a dozen of these sitting unused. The eight batteries included in this package arrived 100% charged, ready for use right away. Strangely, a separate order of the same brand of batteries (no charger) arrived with no charge at all.
