Autobiography of Malcolm X as told to Alex Haley, The (MAXNotes Literature Guides)

This notes version of the book has been the ideal tool for helping a grammar school student I am tutoring learn more about African American history and a truly iconic human being while also helping him learn to read. The short summaries, samples analyses and questions have allowed him to learn in a very proactive, engaging environment. He's not intimidated and looks forward to every weekly session. And I am enjoying it at the same time. A great read for both of us.

Love this book! informative and precise! I couldn't stop flippinh fhe pages everytime was even.more interesting! Funny thing is that I was supossed to read it for class and did it for.pleasure!

A great read if you want just the basic facts of Malcolm X's extraordinary life. A true American hero. Who's very much missed in today's America. 2-hour read at most.

Had to read this for my intro to sociology class, it was the most interesting thing we learned

Was very disappointed that it was not the actual book. I know I should have paid more attention blah blah blah, but still, found this book useless anyway. Just read the real book and figure out what you think about it yourself. I would act according to Godwin's law, and compare them who publish this stuff to you-know-who in an elaborate way, but I'm short in time.

I didn't read the description of this book properly. I didn't realise I was buying the "Notes" and not the book and the notes. My fault, should've paid attention to the description. Had the actual book before but can't find it so I'll have to buy it again.

Excellent Book! Researching My History.

This book was written about a black man , Malcolm X. Tales of a story of a man whose life was change because of education. His life was changed for the better when he was able to think outside of the society he was raised.

星一つはキンドル版に対してです。マルコムＸ自伝そのものは以前にペーパーバックで読んだことがあり、文句なく星５つの本です。今回アマゾンで検索したところ、キンドル版があるように表示されていて、料金も３００円と安かったのですぐに購入してみましたが、このキンドル版は子供が原作を読む際に内容を理解しやすいように作られたとみられる副読本のようなものでした。まあ、キンドル版の説明を良く読むとそういったことが書かれていますので、私も不注意だったのですが、ペーパーバック版など、原作と同じ場所に「kindle版」と表示されていたら、多くの人は原作のキンドル版だと思うのではないでしょうか。このキンドル版は原作とは別の本として表示するべきだと思います。 ほかの人が原作だと誤解してキンドル版を購入しないよう、レビューを書きました。

Brilliant true story about hardship.

This was the first option that came up on the search. The name was so long I did not see that it was a study guide! Can't believe I paid for a study guide!

This is not an AUTOBIOGRAPHY it as a set of lessons based on the autobiography! Don't buy unless you are going to be teaching about Malcolm X's history and life!
