![Leon: Director’s Cut [Blu-ray] [Region B] [2019]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41ok3SiQLRL.jpg)

One of Luc Besson's most incredible movies, Leon has been restored to stunning 4K and is being released in celebration of its 25th anniversary. Visually stylish and graphically violent, this intensely emotional film contains career defining performances and stands up as one of the top action- thrillers of all time whilst offering great depth and substance to the tragic multi-layered heroes. Mathilda (Natalie Portman) is only 12 years old, but is already familiar with the dark side of life: her abusive father stores drugs for corrupt police officers, and her mother neglects her. Léon (Jean Reno), who lives down the hall, tends to his houseplants and works as a hired hitman for mobster Tony (Danny Aiello). When her family is murdered by crooked DEA agent Stansfield (Gary Oldman), Mathilda joins forces with a reluctant Leon to learn his deadly trade and avenge her family's deaths.Extras:Léon - A Ten Year RetrospectiveJean Reno - The Road to LéonNatalie Portman - Starting YoungInterview with Jean RenoInterview with Eric Serra Review: Classic Cult Movie - Must watch - Cult classic story of a hitman joining up with a 12-year old orphan. The sexual undertone is disturbing, but don't let that put you off this gripping story - Gary Oldman plays the bd guy really well. Natalie Portman shows her potential early on. The best scene is when the SWAT team turn up at Leon's door - it doesn't go well! Review: Great film - A classic film, that's now unfortuatly showing its age. Excellent story, but this day and age some people take the relationship between leon and mathilda in a very wrong manner, which can been seen why, especially with what the director was known for doing. Still enjoyable to watch, some light small comedy moments, but plenty of action. I loved watching this when I was younger.

Highly entertaining movie with compelling stories and acting
I have seen it a few times, earlier when I did not know the names of the actors, and more recently after I had seen other movies with some of the same actors. A compelling story backed by really talented actors and director. Must see.

Awesome Film - NOT The "Long Version"
I paid for the Director's Cut of Leon on Amazon Prime. It clearly wasn't the extended version my friend was raving about as the "original" film and the "director's cut," are both 2 hours 12 minutes. I have just read that Luc Besson referred to the original film as "The Director's Cut," whilst the extended version I wanted to see, he called "The Long Version." Still, I have seen this original version of Leon many times and feel that presenting the same film as two different products is at best misleading. What's worse, Amazon haven't got the "Long Version" on Prime although it is available on DVD as Leon (Versione Integrale.)
