Great product
This is my first time making Kitchari. I’m not into spicy foods and not a fan of curry. This blend ( does not have curry) is delicious. The first time I made it I used 1/2 cup of the rice and bean mix, 1 tsp of ghee and 1 tsp of the spice mix and 2 cups of water. It was good, consistency like rice. There is not salt in the mix which I prefer to add my ow. If needed- and I did add some salt to my portion. I used the Kitchari recipe on the package the second time I made it with more water and I liked that better, it was more of a porridge consistency. It was delicious! I added fresh spinach and some other grilled veggies I had to the Kitchari 10 minutes before it was finished cooking. I had it 3 nights in a row for dinner. I plan to make this regularly as it is so delicious, easy on the digestive system and healthy.

GREAT QUALITY!!!
At first, the rice looked disappointing in a clear ziploc bag. Looked like any other rice. But when I put it in the rice cooker, and it steamed perfectly, it looked different. Longer grains than most basmati rice and Superior Quality and Taste. Great Value for the money. My markets sell organic basmati rice for 7.99 for 2 pounds. This contains 3 pounds of rice! Sorry it took me so long to write this review!

A Little To Light and Airy For Me
Apparently not all basmati rice is created equal. It’s my go to rice. But I’m going to stick with Lundberg. I love Banyan Botanicals and I love all of their products for years now, but I prefer a little bit denser of a rice. This isn’t as satiating for me, but my family really likes it. So I’ll probably rotate it or maybe mix half and half. Flavor wise it’s fantastic and has a fantastic aroma. It’s a texture thing for me.HOWEVER: If I were making a traditional Indian or Greek dish or Kitchari, I would definitely use this. So I’ll keep it on hand. But not for every day eating. And we do eat rice every day in my house. So the variety is nice.

organic, good texture and taste
No dislike. All good. An excellent product. Thank you for your extra care in keeping it organic. Too much garbage on our food. We are poisoning ourselves - and then there is the pandemic. Trust in Christ! He is our only solution to the mess we are in.

I Love This Rice!
Cooks up nice and fluffy, separated grains rather than some rice that cooks up mushy. Good flavor. The directions on the bag say to soak for 1- 3 hours and cook for 20 to 25 minutes. This cooks like any other white Basmati. Rinse in a colander, add 1 cup rice to 2 cups boiling water, with salt and butter, turn to low for 13 minutes. WaLa! perfect!

EDITED: Was 5 stars but now is a 1
First review: It’s pricey, but it’s nice rice. It cooks up lighter and fluffier than other rice I use. The bags are a decent size so you get several dinner-for-four sides out of it. The rice has a nice nutty flavor, very pleasant with herbs or on its own.Updated review: I don't know what happened, but the rice is now horrible. It's chalky, flavorless, Uncle Ben's-esque. It's literally like little bits of cardboard. I can only guess that they got a new supplier that is either screwing them over or they've deliberately cut costs. It's not the same as it was AT ALL. I'm going to work my way through this batch I bought then find someone new. Sad, because they were so good.Update #2: I said I was going to work my way through the last batch I bought. I made some for dinner last night, and the kids, who are teens and eat everything in the house, wouldn't eat it. They got some different rice out of the cupboard and said they'd wait for dinner until the different rice was done because they hate this rice so much. My kids eat anything - they're not fussy. That's how bad this rice is now. And it used to be so good! I'm angry at their bait-and-switch. So now I'll work my way through my remaining two bags by making it for the chickens. Literally all it's good for.
