Reef Octopus Aquatrance AQ1000S Skimmer Pump

so far working great to replace my old pump that stopped working. no problems so far. it’s been 4 months

My skimmer had not been performing very well and I assumed that it was the pump wearing out. When the new pump showed up I was ready to give it a 1 star and send it back. It didn't have an inlet. On closer examination I had to pull the cover off to expose the connection I needed. Once I had everything assembled I gave it a try. NO DIFFERENCE!! I took everything apart again to get it figured out. It turns out that where the surgical tubing meets the pump, the hole was completely crusted with salt. I cleaned that out and put it all back together and it works fine. Turns out I didn't need a new pump after all. I will keep it for a backup.

My Protein Skimmer pump became very noisy. I've had it a long time and it just wore out. After taking it out and soaking and cleaning it with white vinegar a couple of times I finally threw in the towel so to speak and started searching for replacement. I found this exact replacement here on Amazon. Now my Protein Skimmer is back to running more quiet.

AQ-1000s has changed from the original product that comes with the Octo Protein Skimmer, however they kept the model # the same. The new design WILl NOT FIT the protein skimmer. Returned for refund, however they charged me $13.99 for shipping. They should notify buyer there is a design change despite having the same model # that it may not fit your skimmer and then have the audacity to charge the customer for shipping for their error! The package arrived very quickly. I have had a 90 gallon reef tank with many species of delicate corals and fish for 8 years now. I have always used Reef Octopus skimmers. When my pump went out last week, this was an ideal cheap fix rather than replacing the entire skimmer. This thing is a skimming MACHINE with the finest bubbles I've ever seen coming from a skimmer pump. After four days of not having a skimmer, the tank started to look a bit dirty. 24 hours after installing the replacement pump, my tank is perfectly clean and clear once again!

this pump fit directly onto the old pipe fittings. Quiet running. I am saving the old parts just in case I need them but this is a warranted part. No need for anything else. Great skimmer. I have it on a 65 gal reef tank. Pulls off the protein well. David

Replacement for existing HOB skimmer. Fits in the place of the old pump. The skimmer is now working again. The last skimmer pump last about two years. This one stopped working after only a few months. Not sure of the problem, because the pump is operating, but not powering the skimmer properly. Insufficient flow now, bubbles still working.

Muy buena bomba, silenciosa, sin duda la recomiendo.
