Fit like a glove 1"x 36"
This is 1" by 36". I don't understand the negative reviews. Either it fits and you measured/ordered the right part or you didn't measure correctly. That's on you not what you ordered. This was a perfect replacement. I oiled it up to squeeze it in the track. Fit great except It was a little high at first. So I keep addding more 3 in 1 oil to saturate the bottom of the door and now it's a nce tight fit - no problems with the door swing. The original lasted 60+ years. Hope this one lasts. Bought a 2nd simply because it's a hard to find item.

Fit the older threshold
This just fits, plain and simple. Having replaced many of these over my lifespan, I popped down to the local Ace and picked up the one I seemingly buy about every 10 years. It was the only one they had, just like 10 years prior, and thus I assumed it was the one I needed. It was immediately apparent that it was larger than the one I was replacing. So, I hopped on the Googles and found this one. Double checked my measurements and sure enough this is the one that I needed. I have no idea why nobody carries this one, but I can't even find it on MD's website which suggests they've discontinued it. Anyway, this one fit and it arrived quickly. It works fine and in about 10 years I will go back through this whole ordeal again, likely replacing the entire threshold since I'm wagering I won't be able to buy this one again.

didn't fit perfect but works.
This seal didn't fit perfect but well enough. it was just a bit too narrow but seals well. I would buy more but the price went way up right after I ordered this one. I don't know why.

misleading size as replacement
While the raised portion of this "replacement insert" for a door threshold seal matches my 3/4" metal threshold, the lips to lock the insert in place are nearly a 1/4" too narrow to secure the seal. We'll see. Since I only need it temporarily until remodeling is finished and a wind-hurricane new front door is installed, it doesn't matter much to me. I also paid only $3.84 USD, but to review the item I see the price has jumped to $16.26 USD in 7 days! So the size, fit, price, and no warranty make this a poor choice.

Hard to Find
The insert is advertised as a 1 in wide but is actually a 1 1/8 inch W. I could not find it locally. None of the Big box building supply stores or hardware stores carried this width. Some stores had an advertised 1 1/8 wide insert but were actually 1 1/4 inch wide and did not fit. Tried cutting them down but destroyed the insert in the process. Amazon was the only web site advertising the 5520 (1 in wide). Shipping was extra and not covered by Prime. The install was easy and an exact fit width wise, however I did cut off about 1/4 in in length. I tried putting it all in but it forced the center of the insert up and I couldn't close the door. After the cut, the fit was tight but the door closed. I'm sure the insert will flatten out after a few weeks of constant use. Updates to follow, if I remember.

Simple replacement - Rubber seal presses in
Easy replacement, great quality. Screw down aluminum to threshold and simply place rubber gasket over the runs that it will secure into and press in by hand, finish by foot

Terrible product. It did not fit correctly.
It didn't fit and they charge you to return it. I will never buy from this company again.

Not Hard to Install, but Material Is too Hard to Adjust to the Pressure of the Door Closing
I ordered 1 that was too wide and then ordered this 1 which was the correct width. I was able to install both, but couldn't close the door either time. There is nothing else to try. So I took the 1 that was too wide and cut away the edges that are supposed to fit under the track lip to hold them in place. Then installed it in the track. My door can close and it is a perfect seal. However, we'll have to see if the strip settles into the track so it isn't worked loose by shoes and doors going back and forth. It's holding after 24 hours, but not much traffic over it yet. So sad that the older 1s had such compliant material that they fit and held up for 50 years and the new vinyl is so stiff and brittle in comparison. The actual installation or removal is easy as long as the track is still in decent shape without dents or flattened areas along its edges. I'll attach 2 pics. 1 shows a common tool you can use to lift the old one up and out. The other shows using your fingers to work the strip into the track Didn't break any nails....
