My babies have loved these for years
These are still in great shape after being used for four years. I do wish the cloth part was easier to clean.

Not good for 4 months old baby.
I bought these for my 4 month old dayghter and thet were a but diferent than I expected. So I thought I would give you my experience if you are looking to buy this for a baby same age.1- The noise they make isn't like rice in a closed container. it is more like a plastic sounds. Nothings like a real instrument.2- The top side where the designed fabric is, is very soft and squeaky the other side is a hard plastic so be careful. My daughter kept hitting her face with that.Otherwise it is a simple and nice toy but I guess not that best for a 4 months old baby.

Great as a first toy for 3months +
My baby has liked these rattles since he was 3 months old and just learning to grab toysI like them for the fact they make noise yet there soft rattles on one side so he can't hurt himselfI don't know how many times my oldest had toys at that age that were hard rattles and he smacked himself with itThese aren't truly a teething toy however he has tried to suck on it and was successful on the soft side which is just like a squishy pillowIt does not make any noise or crinkle just softSo he does like to suck on that side and make it soppy wet lolThe other side is a hard rattle and he's tried sucking on that side, but he couldn't fit the rattle in his mouthIt's mostly good for entertaining by just shaking itWe got it for learning to grab his toys and learn how to handle holding themIt's a good first toy item and the rattles are both colorful

Shake Rattle n’ Roll!
I purchased the Fisher Price Rattle ‘n Rock Maracas for my niece’s birthday celebration and she loves them! She ignored all the other toys and picked them up and didn’t put them down until she tuckered herself out. The maracas have a soft bottom and are really easy for the baby to grip, perfect for little hands. There are colorful beads that rattle around, which makes the sounds, that my niece truly enjoyed. The ends are certainly soft, just in case your child gets a little excited and bumps themselves with the toy, they can laugh it off. Also, The Rattle ‘n Rock is great for chewing! I would be sure to keep this toy clean, aside from shaking, chewing seems to be her next favorite thing to do with them. In Addition, according to some research I did before purchase, they are said to strengthen her sensory and gross motor skills. You cannot beat this price! And with Amazon Prime I got free two-day shipping, just in time for the big day! I highly recommend!

Cool little toys.
My baby was 3 months old when I bought these, now 4 months old. They are nice and light and easy to grip. He would hold them just for a short time. Not too excited about them... more interested in soft comforter or teething toys.Perhaps when he is sitting up independently he will show some more interest in them.

Disappointing Sound
Initially, I thought the price of $12+ was ridiculous for this pair of rattles, but it wasn't until the price dropped to $5.00 that I went to buy them and realized these rattles were rather large. I still think $12+ is ridiculous, actually, but I can justify them being more than $5.00, originally, since they are larger than your average rattle.Anyhow, my rating is based off of the sound that these rattles make. My son has a plastic rattle from the brand Peradix (tried to add a photo, but can't) that has a semi-loud, vibrant sound, almost like a bell--it's difficult to describe, but he loves the sound and always gets excited about it. He hits himself so hard with it and also gets frustrated because he can't eat it, so I bought these rattles to counteract that; these rattles have a soft end that fix both problems, it's just... their sound is very dull and so I don't think they intrigue him as well as his Peradix rattle. It is nice that the ends are see-through, though, so that he can watch the balls move if preferred. The balls are also pretty large, so they don't have a ton of room for motion... so smaller and more balls would probably sound better and also be more interesting.Overall, the rattles are nice and I am still glad I bought them. They fit well in his hands and he's happy to chew on them :)
