We have bought pizza party, sandwich making, ice cream, cookies, pots and pans, kitchen and more. I specifically look for Melissa and Doug products because I know what I get will be a great quality product and the kids will love it. This sounds crazy but I get excited to play with the children because the toys are so neat, well thought out, detailed, imaginative and real life-like. My niece absolutely loves this wooden sandwich set! It’s made of quality wood, smooth and soft to the touch. The Velcro center is strong enough to do its job and hold together a triple decker sandwich, yet my 2.5year old niece can cut it with a bit of effort. I like that it challenges her and also allows her to be creative. Great gift.

One of my 4 year olds most favorite birthday gifts. I have had to hide it a couple times just so she would give the cutting of the sandwiches a rest for a little while. But I love that she is so interested in it and wants to play with this one set more than the 50 other pieces of fake food she has in her kitchen because with this she is actually "making" the sandwich herself. I made little cards that have different sandwiches that can be made from this set and she named them so when we play restaurant she has to make the right recipe. Its just a simple and fun set. I highly recommend this set to anyone with kids from 1-5 or 6 even. I wish I had gotten it for her sooner but at least she will love it for awhile.

A great little set that fosters imaginative play. I saw some negative reviews on this item, but for the price this set is fantastic. We have the pizza party set as well and my 2.5 year old loves that. This set is similar in that it has Velcro dots that make the sandwiches stack. Everything arrived perfectly, no issues at all with quality. I really appreciate the wooden tray (like the pizza party) that keeps everything in one place. Since we got it yesterday, I’ve eaten a lot of sandwiches and burgers 😉

Great addition to our play kitchen. The pieces Velcro together for easy stacking/sandwich making. They are brightly colored, although the buns appear yellow compared to other brand (as shown). Great size, versatile use, fun for imaginary play!

Melissa & Doug...I can't say we haven't loved every toy we've purchased from their line, and we have at least 15. This one is no exception. It's one of the kids' favorites because of the variety of sandiches and burgers they can make with it; the velcro and knife make it doubly fun (shh, don't tell them they're working on their fine motor skills in the process). For the low price we paid for it (during Amazon's M&D sale last year), I'm amazed at what you get (everything but the kitchen sink) and how many hours of dramatic play our boys and childcare kids have gotten out of it, all without even the slightest hint of wear on the durable wood toys. This set makes a wonderful gift, too. If you want play food for your child's kitchen, don't waste money on the cheap plastic stuff that likely contains PVC and BPA. Instead, invest in this (amazingly) inexpensive set and I promise your kids (and you) will be delighted by it for years to come.
