Bought this item for holiday travels 2021. Five hour drive through snow and wet weather but all of our luggage arrived dry. The unit was easy to install on our Toyota Highlander with roof rack. The material is thick ripstop nylon and the seams are all sealed. Zippers are fairly beefy and of decent quality. The roof liner/protector is a nice addition. You can pack quite a bit of luggage in the unit. The only negative aspect was when one of the extra lengths of strap got caught in the car door after a gas stop and conducted the rain by osmosis into the car. That was easy to fix, but it does make me wonder how you keep the wet out if you’re using the non-roof rack method where the straps need to run inside the car windows. Only other gripe is that - as with most blowup beds, furniture covers, etc - it’s impossible to ever fold the item down so that it fits in the carrying case they give you. Why not make those a little roomier? That said, very happy with this product so far.

Drove 2000 miles across the US and had a very good experience with this cargo bag.It's not completely rainproof. Very small amount water got inside the bag, after driving through a strong rainfall. If you want to FULLY protect your items from water/humidity, I recommend you place those items inside a water tight bag, such as a large ziplock bag.This bag works best when secured to the car's roof rack. From my personal experience, I don't recommend using this bag (or any cargo bag for that matter) for car travel, unless you have a roof rack. It's a pain to travel with this cargo bag, if you have no roof rack. If your car doesn't have a roof rack, then I recommend you buy two long ratchet straps so you can safely secure the bag to your car roof. Hook the ratchet strap ends INSIDE your car, so you can easily adjust them on the road. It's also good for safety reasons. The two long straps that come with the cargo bag are completely useless. I bought this for the road trips I take the family and the dogs on. I have an expedition so it may make this bag look small but I was quite surprised at the amount of luggage we were able to fit- 1 pack and play, 1 pack and play mattress, 2 full size suitcases, 1 carry on sized wheeled bag, 2 duffel bags and a bunch of little things to fill in the gaps. It feels sturdy, the zippers feel nice, for the price it's a great vessel to help add storage quickly. I didn't even try the straps honestly, I put three ratchet straps through the D hooks across the bag and one big strap from front to back, it never even shifted an inch. Overall a great bag for the price! Another point, I didn't run into rain, bit whenever I do I plan on putting a blanket inside the bag over the luggage for the condensation.

Used it once and one of the zippers broke off, it's not waterproof if you're in actual rain (waterproof for drizzle). Since it only had one working zipper we weren't able to "lock" it. Piece of trash and waste of money and of course missed the return window by one day so that's a huge chunk of change I'll never get back. DO NOT BUY!!!

I so want to give this bag 5 stars but I can’t. The pros- it’s huge and easy to attach to your rack or basket. The cons- the weather protection inside came apart on our first trip. We hit some freezing weather and when we took the bag down all the weather protection had come off in the front of the inside of the bag rendering it no longer water or weather proof. We had to go buy gorilla waterproof tape to line the bag with to get home.

This roof top luggage Case passed the 600 mile road trip test. I had my neighbor put it on top of my compact SUV for me and although it is really a two man job, it takes just about 15min to put on. If you have cross bar roof racks ,I think the fit is better. You really won't need the roof pad that is supposed to go under the luggage. The look is sleek and head turning with its Contemporary design. Make sure to pack it thoroughly so to prevent any wind from sailing through while you travel up to speeds of 80mph. Loose Pocket noise is a nuisance. This option is great for independent road masters who enjoy occasional trips just about anywhere. Oh last but not least, it holds up nicely in the rain!!!

Great for when we need extra storage space for vacations. We take our Boxer and Boston terrier with us on vacations and this roof bag is the perfect size for fitting a dog bed and beach items that don’t easily fit in the trunk so our dogs can have the entire backseat of our crosstrek! Very easy to use and everything stayed dry!
