This Moroccan lamp is excellent.It's tall enough to be impressive, and the opening at the top is easily large enough to put your hand in and put a candle or timer light.We didn't want a solar light as it's going in a gazebo, so this is perfect. Although you could fit a solar light in it and have the cable running out through the bottom if you want to.It's a very dark bronze on the outside, with a gold inside, so reflects light around inside.You could put a bulb up through the bottom and convert it to a table lamp, which I may do, as I'm getting a second one.One other thing: it would make an interesting storage container, as the hinged top makes it like a jar.It looks like iron, but it's quite lightweight; the wide base makes it feel sturdy and strong. It looks a lot heavier than it actually is.

I love the fact you have a choice of what kind of lighting you can use with this lantern.I used electric string lights but you could equally use battery operated ones or tea lights etcSuch a pretty feature for a dark corner in a room.I will buy varying lighting options , white coloured etc so I can rotate the look as and the. I feel like a change.

This Moroccan lamp is good value and as good as it looks in the pictures. The shadow effect is amazing...just using a tea light it throws designs on the walls and ceiling ...very effective. I'm very happy with it.

I have been looking everywhere for lantern which would be child and cat friendly and would be nice decor item. This is beautiful and good size. I am thinking to buy another one for present

The lantern itself is lovely and well made and the hole in the base of the lantern is in principle a good idea if youwant to use this as an electrical light which I do BUT the hole itself is not big enough!! I ordered plug in fairylights to use but these come with a small electrical pack attached which will not go through the hole. Neither willthe battery operated ones. I have UK electric fairy lights and EU ones and neither will fit through the bottom soyou have to basically wire it yourself with a very small plug. If using a candle it does not sit level as the coverfor the hole on the inside protrudes and makes the candle wobble so I am a bit disappointed.
