Perfect. Absolute Silence.
I purchased this power supply in an attempt to reduce the jet-engine noise level on my system.A bit of back story: My previous 550 Watt power supply, manufactured by Ultra, was a nightmare. The first one had an unacceptable/poorly manufactured fan inside of it. I argued with Ultra for days about a replacement. The whole process was a nightmare. I finally received a replacement. And though it was functioning normally, it was VERY loud. The fan would operate at full speed. The only thing my computer needed was a pair of wings, and it might have passed for a jet. It also generated an incredible amount of heat. Enough was enough...I searched for some reviews on silent power supplies, and SeaSonic appeared on every search. Upon further searching, I found that there are some power supplies with "80 Plus" certification. Meaning that you'll get more efficiency out of your power supply. More efficiency = Less heat = Less fan noise. There are several levels of 80 Plus certification, each with increasing levels of efficiency: 80 Plus, 80 Plus Bronze, 80 Plus Silver, 80 Plus Gold, and 80 Plus Platinum.I ultimately decided to purchase this SeaSonic 750W X750 Gold Power Supply. Excellent decision. The packaging alone made me feel like I was going to be impressed. The embossed black and gold box made it appear sleek and elite. Upon opening, I found the power supply inside of a black velvet-like bag with gold writing on it. Cooool.Aside from the packaging, the product itself was very easy to install in my extremely quiet Cooler Master HAF X case. This particular case positions the power supply on the bottom, rather than the top. Didn't have any problems with positioning on the bottom. There is a vent on the bottom of the slightly raised case, allowing for the SeaSonic fan to pull outside air from it's own source. The power supply is modular, meaning that you can plug individual cables into it, based on your needs. The cables are covered in a black mesh/net material, which appears to be standard among today's power supplies, blends in nicely with the black case. And finally, the most important factor, the noise level. Virtually non-existent. This thing is completely silent, all you hear is a click when you turn on the system. The fan only turns on when power consumption is high and more heat is generated (which is minimal due to it's 80 Plus Gold certification). Even at full load, you can't tell that the fan is on. VERY impressive, a HUGE change from the Ultra power supply I had been using prior. If you want silence and performance. Don't even think about anything else, just buy this. Sure it's on the slightly pricey side, but you'll keep it forever. For complete silence, I opted for some other performance components: The OCZ 60 GB Agility 2 Solid State Drive (SSD) , and the Corsair H50 CPU Cooler (no headache water cooling). Now when I walk in the room, I can't even tell that my computer is on. Perfect.

Excellent Product and Service
This is an amazing power supply that is definitely worth the price! I recently found that my old psu (Cooler Master) was the culprit of the loud annoying buzzing coming from my computer. It had steadily gotten louder over the 3 years I owned it. After doing some research I found that like many manufacturers, Cooler Master opted to use a cheaper sleeve bearing fan in its PSU. As many may already know, sleeve bearing fans are supposed to sit so that the airflow goes out the sides of the case not through the top or bottom. As most cases are now designed to have the psu fan pull from the bottom of the case, this makes for a PSU that will only last a few years ensuring future business. Armed with this knowledge I searched for a PSU that had a better quality quiet fan and stumbled on Seasonic. I liked the idea of a fan that only turned on when needed, and a high quality quiet fan to boot! With so many positive reviews behind it, I decided to give it a shot and try it out. Unfortunately when it arrived I found that there was a problem with the fan and it emitted a grinding noise when it turned on, and shortly thereafter shut off. I immediately contacted Seasonic about the issue. I was pleasantly surprised by how well they handled the situation. Not only did they address my concern by ensuring that this is not typical of the fan, they immediately replaced it. I was sent a replacement unit with a call tag to return the defective one so I would not have any down time. The replacement ran perfectly with no hiccups at all. I was able to fully push my computer with barely a hum comming from the power supply's quiet fan. I highly recommend this power supply. With a quality product and excellent service and a 5 year warranty to back it up, it is definitely worth the price!

Excellent Power Supply
Purchased the SeaSonic X750 Gold in Nov/2010, for a new computer build. It was delivered within about 10 working days in excellent condition. I have used the computer every day for two months without any problems with the power supply. It is very quiet. Even when the cooling fan comes on (rarely), I cannot hear it. The power supply probably exceeds the requirements for my system but it allows for future additions. I considered less expensive makes (Corsair, Asus, other good quality) but decided to spend a little extra because of the reviews. Manual is good and comes with many more power cords than needed for a new build. All the parts seem to be excellent quality. Would purchase - from Amazon - again. My computer specs: Cooler Master CM 690 II case, Asus P6X58D Premium Mobo, Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz CPU, Corsair Dominator 6 GB PC3-12800 1600MHz Triple Channel Core i7 DDR3 CAS 7 RAM, Two Western Digital Caviar Black 1 TB Hard Drives, ASUS GTX460 1 GB Graphics Card ENGTX460, Viewsonic VX2739wm 27" Full HD LCD Monitor, Lite-On LightScribe 24X SATA DVD+/-RW Dual Layer Drive IHAS424-98, Windows 7 Home Premium 64.
