I love the teaching of St Francis. He so encourages the sinner how to grow closer to Our Lord and to not despair over our shortcomings but to continue to trust in the mercy and grace of God. Sweet encouragement. A wonderful read.

I'm on chapter 4 and have already learned so much. This is a short book but it will provoke a lot of thought. Definitely take notes as you break it down.

Hey it is Francis de Sales and he has been there and done that. His writing has a clarity that rings true even after translation. All of the books he has written feel as though he has been following me around and knows exactly what I think and what I have been through. I think he knows it vey well. Comforting and enlightening. Highly recommended!

St Francis cannot be beat as the personal spiritual guide through the trials of life. He uses analogy that we can relate to, giving us advice that we can understand. His method is realistic but gentle.

If you know and love De Sales, this will knock off your socks. I've really much by this gentle Saint and this is one of my absolute faves. St Francis de Sales, pray for us!
