TomTom ONE USB Battery Charger (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

Three battery charging scenarios:1. The included USB cable for downloading from computer will "trickle" charge device's battery if the device is turned off while attached to computer (explained on P9 as Note of Quick Start Guide). Takes about one hour to fully charge.2. Included USB cable for car use will do the absolutely identical thing as the USC computer cable as explained above.3. Optional wall outlet charger not required if one does not need to quick charge device. Advantage of using supplied USB cable with computer is to first hook up to TomTom Home to check for downloadable updates and then tunoff to trickle charge device as needed.I don't think TomTom is being deceptive about the need to buy their wall outlet charger. One has to read the Quick Startup Guide, which is that a guide, and then download and carefully read the User Manual that is available from TomTom Home. It is more detailed on the operation of the device. On p6 of the Quick Start Guide under the header "Troubleshootiong" is clearly states , "Always make sure that you are using the latest version of the TomTom application on your One XL...see TomTom Home on page 9."One has to read the instructions to be smarter that the equipment one uses.

When I got my Tom Tom One, there was a quick start guide that was to say the least inadequite. One of the things they left out was the fact that you can charge your Tom Tom using the USB cable connected to your computer. Insted they have a stern warning in their quick start guide suggesting you spend 30 bucks more to buy the Charger. The Charger works fine, but I don't think much of Tom Tom's business ethics in not including detailed information about their product when the consumer purchases it so you don't end up spending money on things you really don't need. For that reason, I wouldn't give Tom Tom any stars.

I received a Tom Tom One XL T as a Christmas gift here in Germany, and wondered if there was an AC USB charging unit for the system, and discovered this product on a routine check for Tom Tom products. This will save me much time when I program my navigation system in the house, without having to hook the system into the computer. Also, it will allow me to charge the battery when traveling throughout Europe and the USA. Can't get much better than this - DC charging in the car, AC charging in the house, full charge all the time.

We purchased this because my wife's TomTom did not come with a home charger. I think we have only used it once. TomTom GPS devices come with a car charger and, being a GPS, that is where you use them. I find no need to have a home charger since you can just plug it into your car. If I had the chance, I would go back and have not purchased this item. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with it, it works great. There is just no need for it.

I have owned my Tom Tom One XL for over a year. The unit needs a charge if it is in storage, in it's case, for more than two days. This charger does fine but when traveling and using Tom Tom for more than 1 1/2 hours you must use the car battery charger/adapter to keep the unit operating.

Purchased for my original Tom Tom GPS and still use use it with an upgraded model. A very handy accessory to have for the GPS.

It worksWhy am I required to chirp a set amount of words about a battery charger? Your kidding me. It works like its supposed to as advertised. What else is needed?

Chose this because it seemed to be the best value option. Have already used it and it worked perfectly. My only negative comment is that I wasn't sure when the Tom Tom was fully charged. There didn't seem to be anything indicating that charging was complete e.g. a light which changes colour. Perhaps I'm missing something.

This is great - not only for Tomtom products, but any that require a 5V / 1A power supply. The interchangeable plug socket pins mean I can use this when travelling abroad, and the USB to micro USB cable can be disconnected from the plug itself, so you can also use this to charge an Ipod etcWell made, and works very well too

Great price (£4.99 delivered from amazon) for an offial Tom Tom charger that could cost you nearer £19.50 @ retail stores. absolute bargain...Why take the risk of a cheaper alternative when you can get an official Tom Tom one for this price? you dont want to risk breaking your expensive Tom Tom with some cheap charger from China.This charger also comes with the various adapters for uk/europe/us/aus/asia and plugs into the Tom Tom's mini usb connection to charge it (i'm using a Go 530) and it has quite a lengthy usb to mini usb lead with it.It also charges my Sandisk Sansa clip mp3 player fine! which is a nice bonus.

Well it is TomTom! The icing on the cake for me would be to have the option to purchase just the UK adaptor not those for USA, Europe and Australia (unless you use your satnav also in those countries (how many of users fall into that degree of satnav travel?Form an orderly queue, guys! (cough).
