Elegant Medieval Iron-On Transfer Patterns (Dover Crafts: Iron-On Transfers)

A bit juvenile and cartoonish
Not as authentic as I’d hoped the images would be. Too many gargoyles; perhaps I am the wrong audience. K

Fun, Love LOVE
These are a ton of fun and I really love the different styles. You can do them any which way you please, meaning if you want to take the fancy goat thingy and make it into a zombie animal, you totally can! The designs transfered well. I have only used them once, so I'm not sure about how mulitple transfers will work. There is a note in the back of the book about using aluminium foil to get more bang for your buck. There must be something metalic or magnetic in the ink for that to work. I've heard rumor of some of these designs fading. I did a batch of 9 two weeks ago and I can't tell if there is any fading in the one's I still have yet to do, so if there is it appears to be very slow. Once you cut these out, there isn't much room to hold onto them, but you can pin it to your ironing board so it stays in place (three pins on one side will do). If you use it for something other than fabric, you may need to tape or wear high-heat resistant gloves so you don't accidentially singe your fingers. Overall, I'm quite please with my purchase, but let you be warned: THERE IS NOT 150+ DESIGNS! IT'S ONLY 135 EXACTLY. I'm not missing any panels in my book either. So, that's a little bit of false advertising. I don't care enough to do anymore then mention it as it's still a great price, but just keep that in mind if you get it.

intricate designs
i only liked one of these patterns (the thistle) but i got it to bead, not embroider- with beads you can only get so much detail and the designs are a bit too intricate for that. probably good for embroidery though!

Beautiful patterns!
I love this book! Only problem may just be user error, I had a hard time getting the entire image to transfer. It really could just be that I didn't have the iron hot enough. Otherwise, I am very pleased for buying this blind! I wanted to include pictures so others may have an idea of what is inside. Really, quite gorgeous and intricate patterns!Beautiful! Thank you so much!

Beautiful designs
This book was used but looks like new. The designs run from 1" to 9" with a good variety to choose from. I'd say there are around 30 designs in all. I haven't ironed them on yet but the designs are beautiful. Looking forward to embroidering some stunning pillow cases.

An Art Form Aid
I love to hand embroider. The new machines do magnificent designs, but for me doing it by hand is a must. This product allows me to create just the right picture and lets me do my thing.

The details in the book itself are really very nice. Unfortunately, the book is a little bit "thin". I expected it to have more pages etc. But all in all, it is absolutely ok for the price.

Wow what an amazing selection!
I absolutely love fantasy and history, so obviously this book was made for me. I'm a beginner, only on my third embroidery attempt, and this book was made for me to spread my wings a little: there are no colour directions so to can choose your own threads and material, there's a large choice of sizes and designs, and it took about a count of ten or thereabouts to transfer with what looks like plenty of ink to make another as well!I just started my first design, and it's not too hard though in place a bit fiddly but as a beginner that's something I expect to struggle a bit more than I am with tbh! I'm thinking of making a quilt with stitching a load of designs on a backing to create an heirloom I can pass on so I'm remembered!I know others would love this as much as I do! Promise xx

not what i expected really. i love working on aged and fine linen and it was terrible on both. i even tried using it on cross stitch aida and got the same result. not amused so leant to a friend who was more experienced but even she had issues with it so a chalk up to experience and not buy again
