Xbox 360 Guitar Hero World Tour Guitar Kit

5 stars for the game. 0 stars for the guitar controller. Game: Not much to say. Game is very fun and all of the family enjoys playing it. Good amount of songs with some great and some not so great but that seems to be the norm for these types of games but there is something here for just about everyone. Guitar Controller: Got this and right out of the box the guitars strum bar was making a nice loud squeaking noise. No problem as I play with the sound up so it drowned out that but within thirty days of playing started having problems as I started missing notes when I had been hitting them. Couldn't figure out what was going on so I did an online search and found out that this guitar controller has many problems due to cheap switches and that was what was causing the double strumming while pushing down on the strum bar. Never really gave much thought to the warranty but in my searches found that one can fix this fairly simply but said if under warranty give it a shot so I just made it by one day on the warranty. Getting an RMA from Activision is very easy. They require proof of purchase and the neck of the guitar and also provided a shipping label to send it to them. So today I got my replacement. Upon opening the shipping box I saw a rather beat up looking white box that contained the replacement. Pull the guitar out and inspect it and it's clearly not new as the underside of the guitar body has multiple scratches. Kinda upset at that but oh well. Put the batteries in and onto testing my USED replacement. Test down strumming and works as it should. Test up strumming and immediately it's double and triple strumming. So for the cost of this game with the guitar Activision sends a used replacement that is also faulty. Really wonder if anyone actually tests these USED replacements before sending them back to customers? So anyone buying the Guitar Kit version of this needs to read the reviews and think twice before purchasing it as this guitar has some serious problems that would not be happening if they had actually used quality parts when building them. Update: Contacted Activision in a calm manner explaining my displeasure on the used replacement and the fact it also is faulty and a new RMA has been issued. This time they escalated the incident to ensure that the replacement I receive will be a new, factory sealed and fully-functional product and then upgraded that to so that they will be sending the GUITAR HERO 5 model instead of the World Tour model. That is what customer service is all about.

This game is amazing; I'm not sure why people constantly find things to complain about. But I'll level with them and nit-pick: The game itself and whither it's fun or not I don't think actually matters in this review. What matters is if it came with everything asked for, and if those things were in good shape. The game came and played flawlessly. It hurt me when my Xbox shut down and I was unable to play anymore. The guitar worked wonderfully. I will admit that it developed a few problems after 4 or 5 months and refused to stroke downward. This, however, I will blame on my little cousins smashing it into the ground. My only real concern with this product is with Amazon itself. When I bought it it was the guitar set (Simply included the game and one wireless guitar) and it was $20. Now the price has gone up to nearly $120. I'm not sure why this drastic 600% price raise happened. But nevertheless it is a very good buy. In all honesty; I will not be buying this again (to replace my guitar) but that is only because the price has gone up so significantly.

This game was a must get for me after playing countless hours of Guitar Hero III, and it mostly didn't disappoint. The track selection is a lot more varied than past games, and attractive to a wider audience. The only problem with this is that it is certain that everyone won't like some songs. All in all, this is a very good game, and a classic that is not very far from my favorite, GH3.

If you already have a guitar controller, but want a new one, don't bother getting this package. Just get the game by itself and go find a better controller. The switches that control the strummer in this guitar are crap. Mine died within two weeks. They are not hard to replace though if you are handy with a soldering iron. If you are looking for a starter bundle for Guitar Hero, start with the GH III wired controller bundle. That controller can take a beating. Overall it's a fun game, but not my favorite. GH III & V are better IMO. Worth picking up if you don't have it yet, but if you're just starting off, grab a different one first.

No complaints. Does exactly what it's supposed to do. Highly recommend. One note: the description of this kit on Amazon says the guitar ships with the Guitar Hero II game. It does not. It ships with the World Tour game.

it's great to play when the kids are at school and i love the fact that i can beat them on some of the songs when we play on family game nite thank you amazon for having it for sale for such a good price

This game very good songs and for me is safe to say that this game is a very good choice for anyone looking for a guitar hero experience.

Read that it was comparable with Xbox 1. It’s not. Have to return it.

Bought this online and when it arrived it was bad condition and some of the cables were unusable. I filed a complaint and we were sent replacements for free with apologies, however this did not help on Christmas day itself. The game is good fun for the whole family and hopefully our circumstance was just a strange accident and no one else has the same problem.

It says guitar kit but I didn't get the game with it.....Don't know if this is error in the name or if they just forget to put it in. "Guitar Kit "

Wireless guitar had a problem with the strummer, the xbox did not always recognise when it was hit. Amazon sent a replacement and it had a similar, though not identical problem with the strummer. We have other Rock band and guitar hero guitars but the one included in this package is the only one to have caused us problems.

Guitar won't stay connected to the xbox. I have to return it now. I hear this problem is quite common.
