Our dog has no more excessive scratching with NaturVet – Omega-Gold Plus Salmon Oil
Our little 6 lb. long hair chihuahuas was so itchy, she would just be miserable from scratching to get relief. We feed a high quality dog food, but suspected her skin might possibly be dry. After we ruled out fleas and allergies, we thought we would give this product a try. In two weeks time her itchiness has disappeared and she is comfortable and much happier. The quality of her skin and hair are slowly improving too. We give her 1 chew a day because of her size and it seems to working well. She wasn't crazy about the taste at first so we coated it in peanut butter to start and now she takes the treat no problem without peanut butter. With this results, I definitely will be buying this product again, I'm so glad we found it.

Omega Salmon Oil
My puppy had been on this for two years. Her coat is very healthy and has a shine to it. She also looks forward to having this as a treat when it’s meal time. It is a bit expensive so I try to looks for sales but it is well worth the price.

THIS IS A GOOD PRODUCT TOO EXPENSIVE NOW
It's one of those things. Some good reviews then the price skyrockets, until no one will buy it again. If you can afford it, this is a good product, if you can find similar, and less expensive, I would try that

Oh, the stench!
OMG, the horrible stench when I opened the container about knocked me over. They smell like fermented cat pee. Even Leo, my dog will eat anything, turned up his nose at them. Knew I should have ordered the smallest container to try them first. Waste of money as there's no return.

A much better texture than similar products, but higher calories
Update: I had to stop giving these to my dog because I didn't realize how how they were in calories. Two of these treats per day gives him almost 100 extra calories! He put on a significant amount of weight in a short period of time.Original: I'd been giving my dog the Welactin "Soft Chews," which, if you've tried them, you know there's nothing "soft" about them. Unfortunately, my dog doesn't tolerate liquid fish oil supplements well, so I need to give him some sort of chew. My dog is a small chihuhua mix, and even though I cut the Welactin chews in half, I still worried about him choking on the big hard pieces. After doing some research, I wound up trying this brand.I am pleased. This texture is so much better! These fish oil supplements are crumbly, not firm, so they're easier for small dogs to break up and chew. They can also be placed into treat-dispensing treats and crumbled onto food. This is especially helpful for my dog, who tends to swallow things without chewing! Having a more crumbly supplement makes it seem more digestible than the harder "chew" style of fish oil supplement for dogs. There also isn't much of a smell, which I like. Previous fish oil supplements had given my dog serious fish breath! These are a really great alternative for small dogs who can't tolerate liquid fish oil supplements but are a touch too small for the "chews" offered by other brands.

Stops allergy related hotspots
The dog and I both love them. I have never really given him treats but there are a couple friends who like to. I supply them with these now and they give them as treats. The dog loves them. I adjust the number I give him for the day when he gets them elsewhere. And they don't smell bad. I hate fishy smells. These don't have one.I had been struggling with hotspots for over a year with my golden retriever. It had gotten to the point where there was never a time when he didn't have a hotspot in some stage, forming, active or healing. As soon as we got one healing, he would get another someplace else.I was using coconut oil (rubbed onto his skin wherever he tended to get dry skin or hotspots, let it stay on for a few hours then bathe) and that helped to make his skin healthier. The vet prescribed Prednizone and a regimen of that healed up the bad outbreak he had. Then, the vet said that some pet owners had success treating allergies (most likely the cause of his hotspots) with Omega 3's and I might want to try that. As well as giving one to three doses of Prednisone whenever I noticed excessive itchiness or inflamed skin that may indicate the start of a hotspot. Using just one to three doses meant that I didn't have to go through the whole cycle of high dose and then tapering off.I found online that linolenic acid is the Omega 3 that is most effective in treating allergies. (Watch that spelling, there are a couple others that are spelled similarly.) I found the Omega Gold Plus to have the highest levels of linolenic acid and (when purchased online) the best price. Here is what I now do: I give him 3 of these cubes twice a day (the recommended does for his weight). If he gets a scratch or any sign of inflammation, I clean it twice a day by flooding it with a Chlorhexidine 2% for Horses & Dogs, One Gallon dilution. That stops any bacteria present on his skin from growing in and around the site. He never gets weepy hotspots anymore, or hasn't for 3 months. I started the Omega Gold Plus supplement about 3-1/2 months ago. He still has allergic responses, inflamed areas that show no scratch etc. that would be the cause, or sudden general itchiness. I give him one or two doses of Prednisone, clean the spot (if there is one) with chlorhexidine and it goes away. His skin is healthy now thanks to Omega Gold, he doesn't suffer with the itchiness and sores and my life is much easier.
