Guitar for Beginners: How to Play Your First Song In 7 Days Even If You've Never Picked Up A Guitar

Love the book....for me...good instruction....easy to understand

First of all- I am 56 years old, and have owned a guitar for over 20 years. I have picked it up 4 times over the years and always lacked the steps to keep me interested. This book kept me interested, motivated by the progress, I did play my first song using TABS in 5 days. It then taught several important chords. After this book, I am hooked. I can now hold my own around a campfire playing chords with singing. Amazing book. I got their next 2 books already and am learning the intermediate and advanced things. I recommend this book 100%- if you are willing to put in the time!

Good info and reasonable price

I ordered this book and another book to teach myself how to play guitar. This book is amazing! I returned the other book. Im a working single mother of two so my hands are full but i manage to sit down with my guitar at least 3 times a week over the last month or so and i can play guitar now thanks to this book! All thats left for me to do is practice my chord shifting so its smoother. I ordered to follow up book full of exercises to strengthen my playing skills. I cant believe how much ive learned and how fast i picked it up thanks to this book here! Definitely purchase it!

The beginning of this book was great. I really thought I’d learn how to figure out strumming patterns. Unfortunately, I ran into attempting to read TABs before I got to strumming. All this section did was leave me more confused and frustrated than before. I’m not sure why this has to be so difficult. Also, the book has links to examples of how to play, but there is no talking with these videos, hence no explanation for what is going on or why. Trying to use this book made me want to give up completely.

Best series out there in my opinion and I have a library of books I haven’t finished. I finished this one.

Of all the books that I have researched and bought this book is by far the best one for a beginner guitarist. Very detailed and easy to understand. Thanks to the author.

Great book, will be looking at additional music while learning the instrument.

Friendly tone and good pace. Unfortunately after a few chapters I lost trust in the book, after it didn't bother explaining how # works in sheet music. Things got even worse when after 7 days you are told you are playing "Happy Birthday" with only chords; no notes required. Spoiler alert: it doesn't sound like happy birthday at all. By now I really doubt the quality of the book and fear learning more inaccuracies if I continue further.
