Works really well with my pen nib, easy to use, deep dark brown that can be lighten up with water. This will last me a long time!

I love this stuff for my mixed media, and adding shadows or aging the edges of fabric. You can mix with water and paint it on or sprinkle the crystals and then spray with water. I’m thinking you could submerge cloth in a water mixture and dye with it but don’t know how permanent. It is so strong that a little goes a long way. It’s a wonderful natural brown and a great addition to my art supply stash.

Very fun and easy to use. Love seeing different fabrics dye differently in the same pot. Good amount for the price. Very pleased!

I've been dyeing paper for altered art/journals using natural materials, etc.The walnut crystals are amazing, I'm getting wood like textures perfect for ancient origins, steampunk, vintage backgrounds. I used a pastry brush to get grain lines, a paper towel with a light touch to add more texture. It's much easier to add detailed texture to the paper using the walnut crystals compared to coffee, tea, etc.A little goes a long way. I suggest starting out with a much smaller amount than the container recommends until you get a "feel" for the product.

I received the package and happily opened it only to end up with walnut ink crystals all over my white quilt. The container had opened during shipment. I saved what I could. I am, however, upset that it messed up my belongings and that much of the product went to waste. I have used it since. It makes lovely shades of brown. Have both painted and used a dip pen with it. Would order again in the future if I were assured that the lid were taped on. Not sure I will take the risk otherwise.

'Tsukineko' seems to be a brand of 'IMAGINE Crafts' or 'IMAGINE Crafts' white labels 'Tsukineko' products. Either way, the crystals I received work as expected.Suggested ratio is 1 teaspoon to a 1/2 cup of warm water - but you can eyeball it. Too dark? Add more water. Too light? Add more crystals. No warm water? Excellent for calligraphy and painting. The crystals mixed well and the colouring is rich and beautiful. One jar will go a long way and because you can mix as you go, it has a long shelf life.

I have used other inks before but never used walnut ink. This works so nicely with calligraphy because it shows all the strokes straight away with the best residue. I like that it is in a crystal powder form so I can keep it for a long time. A joy to use!
