Flexible, water-resistant boots with long-lasting outsoles. True to size, too!
Excellent fit, true to size. Rugged, long, lasting tread, but still light and flexible. A bit slick on wet rocks and limbs, but I'm willing to lose a few seconds of my walk to work by slowing down if it means I won't have to buy new boots for the next few years. These boots don't make me stomp like a lot of boots do, and I really appreciate that. My walking is normally pretty quiet, and it's definitely quiet with these, even on concrete.I have NOT had any issues with the top lace slipping over the tongue (other reviews have mentioned this problem), and although my last pair of this model (lasted about five years, worn daily) had more rounded fittings that were probably gentler on laces, after two months the laces on these haven't shown any signs of wear. These are water-RESISTANT boots, not water-PROOF. That means you can walk in a light rain, through tall, soaked grass, step in shallow puddles, or briefly slip and catch yourself by stepping in a 3" deep stream (get your foot out ASAP), but you can't go carelessly stomping through the creek or expect your feet to stay dry in a downpour (well, probably not - I take my shoes off when it rains really hard, so I don't really know for sure). So as water resistant boots, they are awesome and haven't allowed a single drop of water through. And having the breathable membrane, they don't fill up with sweat like fully waterproof boots do.Great boots so far! I'll update this review after I've had them for a year.

Great hiking boots
I bought these as a gift for my husband who wanted hiking boots. We had seen them in the store but the price on Amazon was much better. The boots fit nicely - the 11 M were much like his other 11 M shoes and boots. They're not too heavy so they're great for hiking. It's winter here now and with proper socks these have kept his feet warm. I'll update in the summer on whether they keep his feet too warm. He does a lot of hiking while he is geocaching so these will really be put to the test.Update 2/16/2015:My husband has had these for just under 2 months now. He has put a lot of wear on them. They still feel really comfortable. He did state that after wearing them for an extended time they do start to feel heavy. He tested them these past two weeks on snow and ice. They were fantastic in the snow - the tread is really good so it was able to give him traction. They were not very good on the ice since they don't dig down into the ice. He still rates them very highly and is pleased with them.12/21/16 update: my husband still wears these almost daily. They keep his feet warm and dry and are still comfortable after 2 years.

Great boot!
I wanted a simple looking, water-proof boot. They are somewhat breathable. My feet generally run on the cold side, so my feet aren't really hot in these. These are very light but rugged feeling. I can run and jump far without it pulling me down. The toe cap feels beastly. The toe box on these shoes are a bit on the "wider" side. I ordered a half size up, hoping the sock would fill the gap. No matter, it still fits (with a little bit of breathing room), and I had no blisters breaking them in.I also want to note that I was looking into these vs the Vasque Breeze. I wanted the original one but they were sold out. I like the way these look, especially when they are broken in. I've seen the Breeze 2.0 on the trails, I like mine better :) Mostly chose this for the simpler style.Light and fast, rugged and simple!!

A good quality boot at a good price.
I was looking for a new set of hiking boots from a good company at a reasonable price. I don't think you can do much better than these Vasques for what they cost. The construction is solid and I like having metal top lace hooks instead of plastic. The waterproofing has held up good so far and the traction of the soles is very good. They provide good ankle support and are comfortable enough to wear for hours at a time. I'm quite pleased with these boots and would buy them again.

Fell apart in one year.
Update: after 12 months they have fallen apart completely. Seams have separated completely. Where never really water tight. For the price pretty disappointing. Will not buy again. Not worth price.

Invincible!
Just bought these for a trip to Mammoth. They handled the snow flawlessly! Traction was amazing even on ice. The fit is spot on and the boot did not require a break-in period. My feet stayed warm and dry even through 2 feet of snow while taking the kids sledding. I highly recommend these for any outdoor activity.

Love these boots
Love these boots. Putting them on for the first time was great. They are very very comfortable. Still breaking them in so I could only wear them for about 3 hours standing before my feet started to hurt a little bit. I am sure they will get better. Have not been out on a hike with them yet because they are not broken in. Love these boots though, planning several week long hikes with them starting in a month.
