Very Fine Starter Pipes
I was skeptical about this product after reading some of the negative reviews, but I went for it. My conclusion is there's nothing inherently wrong with these bagpipes, they're fine! The complaints I'm seeing indicate people who don't realize that practically nobody is going to just pick up a set of bagpipes and start playing. The highland great pipes are a notoriously difficult instrument to play, let alone master. Getting this set ready to go does take some existing awareness of all the different parts of a bagpipe, how they function, and how to set them up. If you have practical knowledge of reeded/woodwind instruments it shouldn't be too much trouble. If you don't, find someone who does or find an instructor.True, you'll pay $800 and up for pipes out of Canada and Scotland, but as far as a starter instrument goes I'm really happy with these.

Not good if you actually plan to play
Note: I went to a professional bagpiper to have these looked at because we were having trouble playing at home. 1. It's made from the wrong wood. This wood will absorb moisture and crack in time. It should made from black wood that is moisture repellent. 2. The reeds are ALL junk! Every single one of them. 3. Our bag won't hold air fully. The flapper in the chanter won't seal correctly. 4. All the tubes are smaller than professional making it much harder to actually play. 5. It's made in Pakistan which apparently is bad too. Poor quality. The only thing of value was the practice chanter and instruction playing book. Pay more, get something better or buy used. Get in touch with your local players they'll know a place you can go.

Beginners Bag without Beginning Instructions. Buyer Be Ware! You're on your own with this one.
Clearly a beginner bag should come with beginner instructions on basic things like how to set this up. What you get instead is a poorly photocopied and blurry sheet that is absolutely worthless. Yes bagpipes are hard to learn but at a beginner entry point this company could really do itself a favor and include better instructions.

They are beautiful bagpipes. One of the reeds did not fit ans fell down into the bag. The instructions were difficult to follow. I love that a chanter was included for practice.

Excellent
There is nothing wrong with these pipes people aren’t trying hard enough. I got 3 sounds out first try. When I learn how to play I will leave a video.

Crap! holes in the bags, doesn't play.
My husband fell in love with the bagpipes in Scotland. We purchased a miniature set while there, but decided he wanted to try it for real. He went to a local Scottish bagpipe group with this product. This set had a hole in the bag. It wouldn't play. The finger holes were terrible. Bad spacing. The reeds were broken. The professionals tried real hard, but could not make it play! DO NOT BUY!
