Bought as a Christmas present. My daughter is delighted with the knife set.

After promising to replace the old ceramic knife set we have use for years, now held together with Duct Tape and Hope (ceramics seem no longer available probably due to tip breakage) I started the almost inexaustive search for the best value, almost pro , super sharp set of blades. After checking all the dubious so called 'Japanese' ultra sharp style knives and self sharpening knife block systems, I came across these french Sabatier knives and block. They are excellent quality, comfortable, easy to handle and sharper than even new ceramics. The self sharpening block is nice and sturdy and does a good job so far. Every knife you need on a day to day is included - and they are excellent value at the price point I paid. Well done Sabatier!!

No more blunt knives, no more crushing your food with a dull blade. No more diving a hand into a drawer full of loose mixed up knives. This block has the sharpeners built in, looks great to.

I'm impressed with these knives overall, however I have to say I am somewhat surprised by the quality control as the box came sealed, yet two of the knives had sticky marks/residue on the handles, and those and another knife were slightly scuffed, again on the handles. The knife block itself also seems to be slightly worn on one of the edges, but I have no reason to believe these have been returned at any point, as all the packaging was intact. Otherwise, they're good. The self-sharpening is a great feature for the block to have, and it is very satisfying to remove and replace the knives when using. The only thing other than that that bothers me is that the knives don't all sit in the same position in the block. It's not a particularly snug fit, and some handles sit higher/lower than the others. 30 year guarantee is excellent, although I would hope it's not necessary.

Terrible Product. Had these knives for a couple of weeks. Whilst cutting some cheese, one knife snapped completely in half. Knives are also rusting already. These don't seem to be genuine Sabatier Knives. I contacted Sabatier and they have told me that they are getting a lot of complaints but these knives are counterfeit. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! The link for support takes you straight to the genuine site, not the actual supplier of the product. This is making it almost impossible to get genuine support or a refund.

Very nice knife set from sabatier, and yes it does sharpen the knives but I have found it's better if you hold the block while you do it otherwise I would recommend this ,thank you amazon
