Awkward, but a good vacuum
We've had this shop vac for a year now and it has been a good work horse. It is large capacity yes, but this means it is bulky. I knew the size before we got it, but is truly is substantial for the price. It works well dry, we've not tried using for wet. The handle on top is great and is where the amply long cord neatly wraps around for storage. Wheels are a little higher than other brands and skates smooth enough. Attachments are useful, except the narrow flat one. We have lots of hair and cobwebs going on here and it gets caught on the louvers, so we don't use that one much. Otherwise, we are very happy with this Rigid shop vac purchase!

Hose diameter is too small
This vacuum is supposed to be the better quality version of the standard Rigid 12 gallon shop vac, which you can get from H.D. for about 80. However there appear to be only two differences: (1) it's a different color and (2) it has a different hose. Unfortunately the fancy hose is only 1-7/8 inches in diameter instead of 2-1/2!!! I don't know what they were thinking; this makes no sense at all. The attachments are all 2-1/2, so stuff will definitely get stuck at the point where it enters hose. You will constantly have to pull off the hose from the wand and unclog it. The write-up also mentions noise reduction, but I have measured both models and they are the same - around 85 dB. It's not quiet, but tolerable for short periods of time. If you prefer the color of this model, one solution is to buy the standard hose separately. They sell it at H.D.
