Great Product & Greater Customer Service
My daughter bought one of these and loves it. I tried it and she to fell in love with it. Easy to use, huge comfortable seat cushion and back support, easy to adjust, take-ups very little space, and easy to maneuver. Great price, all the pieces came with it, very sturdy, not terrible to put together, but I had someone more mechanically inclined do it for me. After assembly, I notice some tears in the bottom seat cushion. I called Amazon and they could do was accept the return and send a replacement. That was not an option. I contacted the company and they got back to me on the next business day. They ask for me to submit some photos and I did. Within 7 days I had a new seat. No-fuss - no mess - easy as could be. If you are looking for an exercise bike, this is a solid one for a very reasonable price.

May need a Tap. Size is 12mm x 1.25 Left Handed Thread for the Left Pedal.
Review for Marcy Recumbent Bike Marcy NS-40502R. Box arrived taped closed but seemed packed well. Someone had opened it before. Even though we love the bike, the organizing and assembly did take about 2 hours. The very last task in assembling is to install the pedals. Right side easy, left side crooked. I am a retired Master Technician and very careful in assembly. The left pedal is reverse thread. It says so, and I know so, because old Dodges are like that on their left wheels for a reason, and I was looking forward to the reverse install of the left pedal. I quickly found the pedal crank was stripped for the first few threads. The pedal was going on crooked. Of course it was the very last step in the instructions. I called Marcy and they said they don't care because I purchased the bike on Amazon. I threatened to send it back and have another one shipped, they still did not care. Choice was replace the bike under Amazon return or fix the threads. I chose not to spend another 2 hours assembling another bike. So I measured the pedal stud and ordered a tap and die on Amazon to repair the hole in the crank. I removed the bike covers for access and tapped the crank hole clean. Pedal screwed right in and we have been using the bike for a couple weeks. Note: Tap size is 12mm x 1.25 Left Handed Thread. The bike is virtually silent and works very well. The bike itself is 5 stars. The damaged threads are anybody's guess as to where that happened. I just know it was not me but easy enough to repair.

Reasonable for the price
Assembly is somewhat difficult. Just getting the parts separated out of the box took almost 20 minutes. If you follow the directions, it will take 2 hours to put together and get working. The bolt holes do line up well, which is significant. I am not mechanically inclined, but got it together without mishaps, or bashed fingers. No parts missing and everything fit/works as it is supposed to. If you are just getting over surgery, it might be worth paying the neighbor’s kid $20 to put it together, as some steps are awkward.Function is reasonable. It is not as sturdy as the $2500 models at the sports store, but if you tighten everything up as directed, it is pretty stable. All of these bikes seem to be limited for people at the extremes of height. My wife is 5’2” and the shortest setting barely works for her. I am 6’1” and have to set the seat at the second longest setting to make sure my knees miss the handlebars. I believe the theory is to not have your legs fully extended, so for people with short legs, it might be worth finding someone who already has one of these to try out. We tried several high end models at the sports store and none of them could be shortened enough to fit my wife. We took a chance on this bike, as the specifications seemed to be sufficient - and it did work out. Most of these bikes come with length measurements (pedal to seat) for comparison. It is quiet and allows me to watch any program I desire on the TV.Electronics are very basic, but come on. Do you really need $1500 worth of electronics to tell you that you are getting a work out? The high end bikes give you every read out possible and create magnificent patterns in the program. Perhaps I am old fashioned, but the point is to get exercise and most of us can tell if we are sweating and breathing hard without having some machine act as a surrogate drill instructor. My biggest issue with this machine is the way it changes seat position/length. If it is just one person using it, then no problem. But, if you have to change the leg length every time you use it, as we must, it gets old real fast. It is not as simple as the write ups would indicate. Many other similar priced machines have solved this problem, so I am surprised this company has not. As I use this more and more, this issue may become a reason to donate it to the local shelter. Other than that one issue, we are fairly pleased with this purchase. Time will tell. UPDATE: After bashing my hand many, many times and straining to change the position of the seat every time my wife and I switched to use this device, we just scrapped it. I gave it to my daughter and bought a different brand with an easily adjustable seat. This new bike was more expensive, but the other just sat in our den gathering dust. Cost is irrelevant, if a product cannot be used due to a design flaw.

Great buy, easy to put together get it
Update:12/30/2023 I've put around 100 miles on it and dropped a significant amount of weight. I'm still over the bikes limit, but at least shoes fit in the shoe grips nicely now. All around great bike, lower cost performs well. I did indeed get ankle weights for a tougher ride.8.5/10 a great buy. Get this if you're on a fat-loss journey. Putting it together is a work out, if you use the tools provided make sure you have 5ish hours. Resistance seems weak to me and I wish the panel was back lit not a huge deal.Only complaint is the resistance isn't much, but I'm a bigger guy started at 358 when I got this. I'm down to 354 and I've ramped up to 10 miles per day. Maybe my body weight has made the resistance level weaker.I'm looking at adding ankle weights to increase my workout on this.I also bought a sound mat that goes under this , but its so quiet I'm not sure it was needed. My fan is louder than the bike. I can watch Netflix without headphones and watch my shows fine.
