I recently bought Gentry Strained Honey and I must say that I am very impressed! This honey is of exceptional quality and has far exceeded my expectations. Great tasting Honey.. The name "Ambrosia" fits the product. I ordered 4 units, also, ordered 3 units as gifts.

I started eating honey about a month ago, so I’m not very knowledgeable on the various types of honey except that some are raw/ unprocessed/ heated, organic, etc. I went with this one over other competitors because of the style of the jug and the option to buy more than a pound at a time. There are some of 5lbs out there, but I thought it was a bit too much. This size was perfect. For taste, I compared it to my already existing bottle of a generic store brand that is organic, raw, and unfiltered. Ambrosia doesn’t claim to be any of those which is fine, but for taste I preferred the generic. It had that classics full bodied bee-honey flavor. While Ambrosia’s honey is still delicious, other reviewers note that there is a “spice” to it. I was confused as to what that meant. For me, it tastes tangy, even cinnamon-y. I’m sure there are many factors that go into this from the location, to the pollen the bees obtain from flowers they are near. I think it just missed that mark for me and seems more like an acquired taste. While Ambrosia is ever so slightly just a shade lighter than the generic brand, it’s viscosity is way thicker in room temperature (72°), which may be important to mention! Overall, the price point is fair, and middle of the road which matters to me. There are definitely cheaper similar qualities by the Oz, it all depends what you value. I would recommend this honey, but as for me, I like to try many brands before deciding a favorite and that spot is still open.

Best honey at a good price but Amazon does not offer it anymore

It’s the most delicious honey I’ve had at home in the past several years. I definitely recommend this blend & brand. While it might be called full bodied, to my taste, the flavor characteristics are subtle & work together perfectly. The hint of floral undertones are there, but buried beneath a deep amber rush of gooey richness. I read back the label & listing and came away feeling like there’s wine master-level talent behind the brand whose goal it is to deliver such a beautiful honey to the honey loving public! I appreciate their efforts. The 2 pound HDPE (Recyclable) container arrived without damage or leakage & I find it an easy pouring design. At first, I didn’t have a plan for how to pour off from the very wide mouth bottle. After a few tries, it turned out that with a wrist-twist, the honey transfers easily & without messiness or waste. Another benefit of the wide mouth bottle design is it’s easy to wipe off before reclosing the lid, I might transfer it to a glass container when I reorder. Though HDPE plastics are considered food safe, two pounds lasts quite a while & it might be a better option than plastic for long term storage, especially considering that honey doesn’t ‘expire.’ Also important, my September 2024 order arrived with a very comfortable’Best By’ date some 22 months away!

I just got my order of this honey, and it is perfectly named. It certainly tastes like the nectar of the gods. It is not heavy handed in the flavor department. It's light and the right amount of sweetness. Perfectly balanced, with a touch of ... YES, caramel! Who knew there could be honey with a slight caramel taste to it? This is the best honey I have ever tasted, and I will be purchasing it exclusively from now on. (Though I may try out the other flavors as well.) BTW, there seems to be some confusion about whether this honey is raw. It says right on the label that it is raw. It is merely slightly strained, NOT filtered. It is easy to pour, but I also suggest saving another bottle that has a good pourer on it to control the amount better. Do yourself a favor, and try it.

I like the taste. Nice in a cup of black tea.
