Excellent quality, works great, best rain cover I've used
This product meets my stringent standards. The materials are high quality, the construction and design are excellent. Most of all, this thing really works the way it is supposed to, which is saying a lot these days.I used this on my Canon 7D and 400mm prime lens for 6 days in a row, raining each day, and it never let a drop of water through. I found it to be somewhat water repellent; and when some small spots got dirty after intense wildlife photographing, and soaked into the outer material a little bit , it still kept the water out due to the membrane on the inner surface.Attaching the cover to the camera and lens is quick and easy, especially after you've done it a few times. The rubber along the inside of the front edge is an excellent feature which holds the cover securely in place after you strap it on with the velcro. I also like the velcro strap midway along the lens barrel which keeps the fabric in place and out of the way. The small velcro/mesh pouch under the flap above the sleeve is nice, though I haven't found a use for it yet.Even the storage bag is well designed and high quality. Made of the same materials, with half of the bag being mesh for ventilation (although you should not store the raincover wet anyway- I hang dry mine if it is just a little wet; if it's dirty I wash it as noted later in this review)Personally, I didn't really use the sleeve on the right side very much. After a while I decided that I preferred to just slip my hand into the back opening, as it was faster and easier. In some cases I might use the sleeve, if the rain was really extreme, for example. I also did not cinch the cord down over the back of the camera; again, that would be useful in a real downpour, but I liked being able to see and operate the camera controls with the back open.I've tried other covers, including ones with clear plastic that cover everything including the back and eyepiece, and also just a good old plastic bag. Both of those options are essentially useless to me, as they fog up from the heat of my hand, when wet they are hard to see through, and it's nearly impossible to use the viewfinder with the plastic in the way and wet and fogged up. The product being reviewed, on the other hand, is open on the back, allowing you to see everything and use the viewfinder as usual, with no fogging, obstructing, or other inhibiting issues. In addition, this product fits the camera and lens perfectly, unlike the plastic covers I've tried. The camouflage pattern is useful for wildlife photography, and because of this, I use the cover at all times, even when it's not raining. Besides the camo feature, it also protects the camera and lens from dirt and other harmful contaminants. I highly recommend this product to all photographers that will be shooting outdoors with mid size telephoto lenses, especially wildlife photographers.By the way, I wash this cover with technical fabric detergent (I use Sport Suds), in the washing machine on the "handwash" cycle with cold water. Then I tumble dry it on extra low / air dry setting. If you don't have a handwash setting on your washing machine, I recommend that you actually handwash the rain cover. I also would recommend technical fabric detergent instead of regular laundry detergent, to maintain the high tech fabric's integrity and functionality.

Difficult to install if you don't use it often.
If you don't use it regularly, pulling it out and putting it on your camera can be confusing especially if you bought the black version since everything on the coat looks the same. There are no labels for front and back and if you've forgotten there's only one arm hole then you'll be wondering what it's for. If it's already started to rain and the wind is blowing, you'll have fun trying to figure out which velcro to mash against which velcro. Oh, and there are drawstrings that need to be tightened so be sure to look for them too. I think I'm going to put a laminated list of step by step instructions into the bag.

Neither here nor there...
I bought this for photographing outdoors in the rain and snow. The lens coat itself is constructed decently, though the size is neither here nor there. I have tried this on both a Canon T2i and a Canon 7D and the following lenses. With my largest lens the Canon 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 the lenscoat is really about 2 inches too short; if I have the lenscoat strapped at the end of the lens hood then there is not quite enough room to get my hand in the arm hole. To use this comfortable I need to strap it around the middle of the lens hood, which provides less waterproofing. Furthermore while it is too short, I find that it is much too baggy; the 100-400 lens hood flares out to 4.5" in diameter, while the lenscoat can accommodate a lens that flares out to 6.5"; this leaves a considerable amount of excess material. With the Canon 70-200 f/4 IS USM the length is a bit better, but much like the 100-400 there is much too baggy. With the Canon 15-85 f/3.5-5.6 IS USM ...don't even try it there is more lens coat than camera equipment.Another complaint, though I sorta knew this before buying, you cannot use a flash with this. If you want to use a flash get the think tank hydrophobia flash. ..in fact spend the extra money be happy the first time...get the think tank hydrophobia! All in all the product does keep the water out, but I am not sure it was worth the $80 for something so generic.

Wet gear for your camera
Never having used rain gear before this is an akward thing. I pulled it out and had no idea what I was doing. I do not believe there were instructions either. Once I went on the LensCoat website I found a video about the pro version which is mostly the same only for larger lens. I learned all I needed to know from that.It still was a little akward as less than 5 hours after opening the package I was using the RainCoat in driving rain. My camera body got a little wet but that is more a function of me not being proficient at the use of this product. I think I would do much better now.It kept my lens well covered and would do the same for the camera body had I got in closer to the camera before opening up the RainCoat.Over all my camera is not weatherproof but I managed to survived the night thanks to the RainCoat. My second use will be this weekend and I anticipate a dry camera this time.

Small - 20 inches in length
Too small for my Nikon 200-500mm lens with the hood. If you look at my pictures you can see my lens is the same size of the bag, and with my camera attached it hangs out of the bag.. I tried the bag with my small Nikon 70-300mm lens (with the hood) and it's fit perfectly with the camera. I put my 300mm lens in the bag and compared it to my 500mm lens so you can see for yourself. It would be nice if there honest reviews here, people saying it fits a 600mm lens, no way. It's only 20 inches long. I've seen other comments saying it's 21 or 22 inches. That's not true either. Super disappointed, returning..

Too small
I searched the web for people that were also using this with the Tamron 150-600. I found some and they claimed it was long enough. It's not. The only way this would provide enough cover would be if you removed the lens hood.It baffles me how the designers of this item refuse to specify the overall length of the coat. That would prevent this sort of problem, but exact measurements are ALWAYS missing from the product page!

Excellent quality but too short
Excellent Quality, well made. But too short. Using a Sony A9 w/Grip and a 200-600mm. 2" Too short. You have to pull the sleeve back to use the hand sleeve, but exposed a good 2" of the lens hood. Too tight to put your hand underneath to work the zoom & focus controls. Bought the Standard on recommendation from LensCoat. They need to make one between the Standard and the Pro.
